this game is expected to take five hours to complete but the storytelling is terrible and just not fun, you're expected to spend a lot of the game searching through ephemera but most of the ephemera you can find laying around is just lorum ipsum stuff, there is even a big "NOTICE" sign and when you go to look at it it's just lorum ipsum, this game just drags on and on and the only good thing is that the killer at the start is kinda hot

Minecraft meets Stardew Valley. Very cute and fun, but the building aspect can feel frustrating. You are expected to remodel all villagers' homes by hand, which means a lot of your time will be spent planning and building houses that are expected to be a lot more complex than you may be ready for. I ended up tossing all the required furnitures into people's lawns because I simply couldn't put in the time to make things even slightly similar to the very complex starter homes the game comes with. The game expects you to do a LOT more building than farming if you hope to have a nice-looking town; think Animal Crossing if it was 70% terraforming.

A lot of aspects of the game can be cheesed; for example, you can just break furniture and sell it back to the town to immediately get rich. This is another thing that makes the game feel not as rewarding.

Community wise, there really were never many players showing off their towns, and I suspect it's because the building comes with such high expectations. This is a farming game for people who prefer to build than farm, but it's still a decent enough game.

The game is really enjoyable...when you can play it. There are a LOT of game-breaking bugs that were never fixed, and a lot of players end up having to just stop playing. Things like not being able to leave rooms, not being able to talk to NPCs, interact buttons and character models not loading, etc things that are pretty critical to move from one scene to the next. I wish I could recommend this game, but in its current state I just can't. It's been out for years and these things haven't been fixed.

The art is super cute, but the story and characters felt overly simple and difficult to like for me. I think I would like this game a lot if I had been a kid though!

The fact that this game is free is crazy. The plot of the game is really unexpected...even after trying to better understand the story, I still feel very confused. But it was very satisfying nontheless and I really enjoyed the puzzles. For free, this is too good to pass up! I would say this is a subversive thriller type game.
