Cultured game made by people of culture.

Looks amazing considering it's an indie studio, OST is awsome, voice acting is absolutely stellar and the gameplay is fun.

The story is enjoyable with both epic moments and very funny humor, and it's much longer than you would expect if you've played typical NSFW games.
It is also told through VN style scenes but with a dynamic camera that really makes you feel like you are there in the same space that the characters are in.

The characters are not cardboard cutouts either. They have rich personalities (massively bolstered by the excellent voice work from the VAs) that you get to learn more about as you develop your friendship with them, and this eventually leads to unlocking the Devotion Quests that are end game content missions dedicated to each individual waifu.

If the above sounds like your thing, definitively check it out.
If its on sale, don't hesitate.

Man I wanted to like this game.
Beautiful artstyle, interesting setting, cool gameplay setup etc.
But the combat system. Holy crap the combat system. It is NOT fun, it is purely frustrating and only serves to kill the immersion constantly.
This is the worst way to implement a combat system revolving around parry that I've ever seen.
I've 100%'ed Sekiro, MGR and God of War, and I hate trying to parry in this game.
It gets even worse when you're forced to fight very nimble enemies in a tiny arena with foreground objects obscuring them, and when I got to the area that is full of enemies that explode when they die (and also jump onto you at extreme speeds when you're trying to hit something else so that you end up detonating them in your face) is the point where frustration > enjoyment.

I really, REALLY want to leave a thumbs up here, but I can't for one very specific reason.
The serpent avatar boss.

This one thing prevents me from recommending the game because it is the most lazy, thoughtless, moronic design of a boss I've ever seen in a game like this, and it's not optional, it's mandatory.

I'm the sort of gamer who 100% achievements games like MGR and Sekiro for fun and I can't stand this bloody boss.
Whoever playtested it and approved it needs to have their job position re-examined.

I've played the original 2005 RE 4 on gamecube more times than I can count, it is one of my all time favorite games.
This remake lived up to and even surpassed my expectations.

Easily one of the best remakes ever made, of one of the best games of all time.
Play this game. If you're completely new to resident evil, or an old veteran, or anything in between, it doesn't matter. Get it, play it, then play it some more.

Fantastic game that did everything I hoped it would and gave me a few things I didn't know I wanted. Excellent work by the devs and the cast all-round.

130 hours of pain, misery and suffering. Then you finally feel like you're starting to get a grasp of things and getting better, and you get screwed completely out of nowhere because the game randomly decided to crash and erase all your progress 4 hours into a mission.

The technical state this game is in is completely inexcusable and you should NOT play it until it's been fixed, which is gonna take a long time (checkpoints have been in the game for a while and they are still bugged out for example).

Play DRG instead and save yourself the pain. The difficulty of this game is not worth it when you constantly got the sword of Damocles hanging over you.

Looks, plays and sounds pretty much exactly like a 90s survival horror game.
Everything about this game is utterly amazing in how polished it is considering the budget it was made on.
If you have even a passing interest in classic survival horror, pick up this game.

Special shoutout goes to the OST. It's been a long time since I've played a game with such a memorable tune.

Easily one of the best co-op games ever made with functionally infinite replay value and amazing depth to it's design.
The fact that you can play it for 10+ years (used to play it on my brother's steam account before I got my own) and still hear new voice lines every now and then, and continually find yourself in new and unique situations, is a true testament to the craftsmanship with which Valve has made this game.

Turtle Rock may claim to be the creators of L4D but in reality they are not. Valve are the ones we have to thank and I do believe that should be very evident by now.
Don't bother with TR's "spiritual successor", play L4D if you want the best zombie apocalypse experience with friends. Especially now with it's price being so low it's a complete steal.

Many people have described this game as "Commandos in Edo Japan", but it's honestly more than that.
The gameplay is very engaging, the art style is smooth, the music is fantastic. But honestly, the story and the characters are the main draw for me.

This story goes places you don't expect, and the characters change over the course of the game in interesting ways (this is even reflected by their in-game voice lines when you give them commands changing as you progress).
There is one particular moment that sticks out to me, where *something* happens, and the rest of the mission is played out with no music and with drastically altered voice lines from the characters.
Just the memory of it gives me chills.

PS. I actually recommend playing with the english voices, as I think they fit the characters better. Especially the old guy. I'm not really sure what was up with his japanese voice casting, but it doesn't work nearly as well as his english one.

Half-Life is already one of the most legendary games in history, and this remake is truly a worthy one.
It updates the game in basically every way while still making it look and feel like a prequel to half-Life 2, and the team who made this has managed to create a completely new, utterly stunning Xen for you to explore and fixed the most frustrating parts of several levels.
Also, the fact that Valve has given their blessing for this to be sold as a separate game speaks volumes about the crowbar collective and the respect they have for Half-Life and it's history.

Small tip: This is not a run and gun shooter, so don't try to play it like one. Treat each encounter like a physics puzzle to be solved and use every tool in your arsenal. Gordon is a theoretical physicist, and that's exactly how you should think and act while playing this game.

The next time someone tells you that games aren't art, get them to play this game. I promise you they won't be able to say it anymore after having experienced this masterpiece.
The emotions this game evokes in you can't be put into words, and trying to do so would be a fools errand.
This game is an experience. One that you most definitively don't want to miss out on. And honestly, it's severaly underpriced for the massive amount of content and value that you get. Puts triple A developers to absolute shame.
