I had obviously heard all the hype and praise for this game before getting it. All that noise meant I had extremely high expectations going in. When I tell you my expectations we're not only met but exceeded I really mean it. I was actually blown away by just how fun this game is to play. The movement and gun-play is very intuitive. Quick to pick up but still requires practice and discipline to master. Even the controls for calling in drops (when moved to the arrow keys) becomes second nature.

The community is also a surprising high point; most of the time. I played my first dozen or so games with randoms who were either very helpful and talkative or quiet but efficient. It wasn't until around my 30 hour mark that I started getting less favorable randoms but so far I haven't run into any properly toxic players. Most people just want to get their samples and have a good time.

Finally the microtransaction system is one of the better ones I've come across for the simple fact you don't ever have to spend money on any of it. In my 69 (heh) hours with this game I have gotten enough currency by playing to unlock 2 post launch War Bonds and a set of armor from the randomly shifting armor store. This is what good microtransaction systems look like people.

All in all I give this game an emphatic thumbs up and recommend anyone who enjoys squad based PVE games to dive straight in!

If you're transferring from Xbox make sure you turn off notification sound and prepare to see the achievement notification popup for the next 8 hours.

I was never able to play this on PC when it came out. My specs wouldn't allow it. I played on console instead. I had fun but I knew it wasn't the same. I knew once I built a new PC PUBG would be the first new game I get. Flash forward to today. I've finally built a new PC and installed PUBG finally. But wait I can't bring my console account over to PC, and there's no duos, and no FTP cosmetics, and no after game timeline, and no map picking, and nothing but bots playing, and lot's of hackers, and and andandnandandand...

This game is @$$ now don't bother lol

A well thought out and designed Space survival and crafting game. You want to make a deepspace refueling station, you can. Want to build a giant exploration Star Ship, you can do that too. How about a small planetary outpost with a cantina, space port, and dance club? You can do that an much more.

Early Access Review
Picked this game up after watching a bunch of the Yogs play it. The game is quite charming, stylistically and game play wise. But this game is very much in early access. It's very easy to run out of things to do after a while. Being that it is early access there's a lot still to be added. Even as I've been playing there's been more added to the game. If you like these kind of gridless city builders I think you'll like it and if you do you should consider buying it to help the game's development along and come back to it every so often when there's an update.

UPDATE: 2K got rid of the launcher so you have to re-route the start up for the game to make it work again. Google CIV 5 news and you'll find an article with instructions on how to do it.

I played this game when it was free but put in 6 hours straight and I loved every freaking second of it. Never thought I'd be into these kinds of games being an FPS kind of person, but there's something about this game that makes me so happy. Maybe it's the idea that you can make your own kind of history through your decisions, maybe I'm a power monger IDK. Playing with friends is even better, "Remeber when we made our alliance and stopped the war between Quebec and Rio?" You can have your own loar and history with friends to reminis on or even build your next game off of.

All around enjoyable game and I can't wait until the Christmas sale to buy it and spend days of my life playing this game.
