Best way to play is with mods! Looks like they brought back mod support--There's a whole extra functioning modded faction with different new titans, so enjoy.

-This game is by far the best 4X space sim I've ever played.

If there's one thing Amplitude does right, it's random events. There's no feeling like suddenly getting another colony ship on turn two, or 750 dust from an event with the words 'Your Faction Only' across the top.

That carries over to Endless Legend, where they did a trememndous job weaving the lore into the game. That's not even counting quests you can recieve from searching ruins.

EDIT 10.13.22 they fixed the issue with routers a couple months back by limiting the range to within 500m of a base. That they're not global makes them much more balanced.

Only major issues atm are massive zerg swarms during prime time. The current spawn system as it is now lets huge blobs of population to rapidly redeploy across the map. This reduces the use of actual logistics somewhat substantially, though valks and debatably galaxies remain the superior transport aircraft.

This is a game like no other. It has nothing to be compared to. The closest I can say is that Planetside 2 is battlefield 3 on gamma radiation. I.E. After you get past the (steep) learning curve, it hulks out. With aircraft, tanks, MAX units, (walking tanks) and three asymetrical factions, there's more here than you can imagine, if you can look past the occasional bug. See, the company running this game, Daybeak Games Company, is effectively and indie dev right now. They used to be affiliated with SONY.... uh... No longer. Sony sold Sony Online Entertainment (SOE) to Daybreak Nova investments. SOE then became DGC. However, they're still pumping out new content! To any of the newbs joining, if you see this, remember to join an outfit. And if you're not having fun, ask yourself, "What's going on that I can mess with? " You can go infiltrator, and go invisible. You an go Light Assault, and fly. You can go medic, and revive and heal your teammates. You can go Heavy Assault, and go ham. Remember, there are tanks and aircraft waiting for you, not just infantry. You can pull your killstreaks from a vehicle terminal. Now get out there, soldier!

Update-- roughly 1000 hours later, this game is still engaging. TIP: Find an outfit of guys who actually want to play. There aren't many left, but they exist, and it's one of the most satisfying things in the game to watch you and your squad take a point from vastly superior numbers.
