I adored this game! A very cute little island adventure with clear Legend of Zelda inspirations but no death or failure states - an excellent game for decompressing and relaxing at the end of a stressful day. I didn't find anything super challenging but I didn't find anything super frustrating either; it's very user-friendly, and after you complete the main story you'll get some items to make it easier to reach 100%. The story was simple but very charming.

If you've enjoyed the first two, you'll definitely love this one. The most dramatic entry in the series yet, and wheeling around on my cowboy scooter while western music played was all I ever wanted. The scooter also makes movement a lot smoother.

If you enjoyed the first game, you'll definitely like the second. As with the first, it has very basic gameplay with only a couple of additional touches, but a cast of colourful characters to interact with.

A very charming little game, short but well-priced for it. The gameplay is very rudimentary - walk around talking to people and giving and receiving items - and the graphics are simple but cute. I kind of wish there was more to do with the magnifying glass, but I still had a lot of fun with these funky little guys.

A game where you roam around a Yorkshire town doing wacky things and interacting with a cast of British weirdos such as Matt Berry. Not a challenging kind of game - there's no way to fail, and no tough platforming or anything - but it's a fun little game with pleasing visuals and music and an absurdist sense of humour.

The biggest caveat I'd give is that it is quite a short game, probably 2-3 hours. It doesn't overstay its welcome, but the length may be a turnoff for some people at this price point. I'd say definitely get it, even if only on sake.

I'd mostly recommend this game, the tense atmosphere was very well crafted and maintained. Gameplay is for the most part a bit walking simulator, with a couple of action sequences. The action sequences are the weakest part of the game imo; the interface feels a bit clunky for what they want to be. The chase sequences aren't so bad since it gives you the option to skip if you fail enough times, but the combat was quite frustrating, to the point I decided not to replay for the multiple endings.

The horror vibe is very eldritch, Lovecraftian without being actually connected to the mythos.

Short and cheesy as hell, but I like that kind of thing. The majority of the gameplay is interacting with things, but there's an action sequence or two near the end. A cast of bizarre characters with charmingly OTT voice acting, and a dingy setting ehich pairs very well with the blocky graphics. A pretty short game that you can bang out in a single evening, but the price point is okay for that.

Archetypal walking simulator: there's no gameplay other than slowly walking around the island listening to your dude ramble on. The scenery is gorgeous however, and I did cry like a baby at the end.

I'd put it at a "neutral" if Steam had that kind of rating. I'm glad I played it for the experience, but I think a lot of people would find it very tedious. Take note that there's less gameplay even than most games labelled "walking simulator"; there's little to actually investigate beyond finding a few urns for an achievement, and the game is pretty linear. It really is just walking, listening, and taking in the scenery.

Might be worth waiting for a sale, if you're not sure. If you find most walking simulator games boring, don't bother.

Gonna start off by saying make sure to read the negative reviews carefully; this is an earlier example of a game getting brigaded because it dared to have a(n extremely minor) trans character.

I would broadly recommend this expansion, with some caveats. In terms of gameplay, it's basically more of the same. The story progression is more linear than the base game; there was enough room for optional exploration to keep me happy but it's much less of a sandbox: you open up more side areas by progressing the main story, and there's a lack of backtracking.

Narratively, I enjoyed the game on its own merits, especially the new NPCs and added content for returning faves. However, its stated purpose was to bridge the gap between BG1 and BG2, and I'm not sure it was really necessary for that. I've never felt like there was a huge gap in the first place, and very little of the campaign is actually dedicated to linking the two. If anything, it created a few more plotholes: there are short little romance plotlines, but since this was iirc made after BG2EE, there's a slightly jarring effect where these romances are just never acknowledged in the sequel. I played through the Rasaad romance in both games and there was a noticeable clash. There's maybe one point dedicated a plot inconsistency between BG1 and Throne of Bhaal, but that's more enjoyable if you've played Throne of Bhaal already.

Having said all that, I still think it's a fun campaign, and if you enjoy the classic Baldur's Gates I'd still say it's worth it. If you've played the first or both BGEE titles and are keen for more, you'll probably be satisfied; if you're not sure, wait for a sale.

Oh, you already know what I'm going to say. I grew up playing this game and its sequel, this is mother's milk to me.

Fantastic, an absolute classic and a defining game of the genre. Beamdog's Enhanced Edition is very worthy, incorporating ease-of-use elements and additional race/class options from the second game back into the first (in my day we had to use complicated mods for that) and adding some more options as well.

I really enjoy the new NPCs. They stick out a bit in this game, since they have personal quests which weren't typical for companions until the sequel, but that was an improvement so I can't hold it against them.

If you're coming here from BG3, be warned that the game runs on 2nd ed. AD&D, which is a hell of a lot less streamlined than BG3's 5th ed. It's not too clunky for its age but don't expect modern-level smoothness.

Pro tip for beginners:
-I know it's counterintuitive, but in this game, lower numbers for Armour Class are better. Negative numbers are better still.
-Use the tab key to highlight containers, etc. Devs hid some secret loot caches, intended for the days before tab-highlighting.
