I first got this game after seeing a streamer play it before it was even on Steam.

Rimworld is a game with infinite replay value as you can tell by my playtime and the playtime of others. Unlike most colony building games each colonist is unique. Each colonist has a backstory. Each colonist has traits which can affect things such as combat performance, work speed, move speed, social interactions, and more. Each colonists has relationships; you can watch as friendships form and break, as lovers marry and cheat, and as cousins or siblings fight on the opposite sides of battle. Each colonist will act out differently when their mood is low. Each colonist will have different skills and passions, making them more or less suited to certain tasks. The world, colonists, and local landscape are randomly generated, leading to a unique experience for every colony you make.

There is something for everyone in this game. Whether you want to play a brutal survival game or a chill base-building game. Whether you're interested in a brutal story of death and survival for your colonists or you're a chronic save loader like me, you'll always find yourself coming back to this game.

Of course, I would be committing a war crime if I didn't mention the absolutely amazing modding community. If you ever feel that this game is missing something, just check the steam workshop and you'll probably find what you're looking for. In fact, just check out the steam workshop after you build your first functioning colony. You'll find mods you never would have thought existed and then can never live without. Think you've seen all that Rimworld has to offer? Switch up the mods, tweak the difficulty, try some new scenarios. You'll never truly run out of things to do in Rimworld.
