Get this game, you will enjoy it if:

DO yourself a favour and DON'T watch the above marketing videos, just trust this: if you enjoy sci-fi, horror, subnautica, bioshock, amnesia, environmental storytelling or immersive gameplay and possess an ability to solve puzzles (there are some, but not so many that you will get frustrated), then look no further than: SOMA!

The best way to approach this game imo is to watch as little content as you can, instead deciding to take yourself on this journey with the protagonist (main character).
  • The experience should take you anywhere up to approx. 11 hours, if you immerse yourself in the lore and discover all the easter eggs.
  • The graphics are spectacular, especially considering the game was released in late 2015.
  • Level design has significant stealth elements to it but the enemies are creepy, likely leaving you a little on edge.

When you complete it, you will be left bewildered that this studio has not released anything recently. Devs, I wish you the best of luck with your new venture, cannot wait!

Really enjoying this piece of software! Dynamic mode ftw to always keep you on your toes. The DLC are affordable and are often on sale, plenty to treat yourself with. A couple of things to be aware of: 1. You need to source the Real Tone cable for zero hassle (the PS and Xbox versions work with PC). 2. You need a real guitar to connect the cable to. You see people complaining about that a lot for some reason but it seems somewhat obvious.

There is loads of customisable replica amps and pedals to experiment with too and a jamming tool to noodle away to your heart's content.

It's a great learning tool to keep you motivated when frustration gets the better of you. They have also added an option to use without the cable using a microphone but I cannot comment on how user friendly this is, so I won't attempt to here.
