I'm sorry but this game is just so bad. I love the dragon age series, but this is an all time low. The dialogue is rough at best and unbearable at its worst. The game wants to be played on harder difficulties, but the mechanics are not polished enough for it. The characters are barely tolerable. The plot, while interesting, leaves much to be desired. The background of the character is forced on you. Memories are presented to you like Family Guy cutaways or southpark memberberries. The lore has always been a little inconsistent, but this is its worse adaptation yet. All relevant story from the past games have been scrapped for favor of chasing the bald sexy elf. Im not even going to talk about Tash. she is just... wow. so awful. Don't play this game. I got it as a gift and I feel terrible that I cant refund them.

Story is not intriguing at all. Game play is no better then clunky fallout 4 shooting. In order to play the game you have to fast travel 3 or 4 times just to get to a destination. I feel like I'm playing fast travel simulator. Feels like bethesda is just waiting for modders to make their game good. Definitely going to wait until this game offers more if it ever does. Also why do all the voice actors sound so bad?

It is a very well done game. It has likable characters, innovating mechanics, and a good story with hidden lore. I would definitely recommend to people that enjoy darker themes, card games, or digging for lore.

I would only recommend this game for people really wanting to continue the story from Shadow of Mordor. Shadow of Mordor was a phenomenal game with smooth combat and great mechanics. Shadow of war tried to take those mechanics and evolve them by adding more abilities in between the things you can already do. While this sounds awesome, in reality the game just feels busy and half baked. They put so much thought into making the orc personalities diverse that they forgot to make the combat tolerable. Abilities get in the way of each-other and controls are uncomfortable at best. During endgame content war chiefs gain the ability to "adapt" which basically means that if they have a weakness they will gain the ability to be immune to that weakness later in the fight. This basically leaves normal attacks as your only options. Endgame felt horrible. High level armor and skill cant get you past the ten spears that hit you through your dodge and instantly kill you. This lackluster combat could be forgiven if the rest of the game's content made up for it but it doesn't. You go from place to place repeating the same thing over and over again. And as an epilogue they want you to do more of the same. Other then taking forts and fighting war chiefs this game has literally nothing else to offer. Watch a youtube playthrough to get the amazing story. But don't buy this game for the combat or the content. It's garbage.
