TLDR: Lots of potential to be good, currently not a lot of content, pvp is fun though.

A game with a lot of potential, if done correctly it can be created into a survival game with infinitely changing competition and scale. And hopefully set a better example than Cashgrablas.

Their Lattice system connecting all servers together, no offline raiding, and fast paced gameplay should make for a decent game at launch, but remember to not judge it for what it is now, but rather for what it can be in the future. In essence, this game carries the hopes of a lot of survival enthusiasts such as myself, and I hope it can one day stand among the titans.

The combat is simple, yet complex. A 180 degree block/attack system seems to set a high skill cap you can achieve with different weapons. And it actually works decently well and feels good to block and land attacks, killing other people is oddly satisfying.

Again, don't expect a fully fleshed out game at launch, it's not that. End game seems to be lacking a lot of content, so does middle and early progression. As an 'experienced' survival player I was able to unlock pretty much all of the 'engrams' in only 6 hours by the repetitive task of killing monkeys, and looking for loot caches around the map. I was able to get the tier 2/3 armor and tier 3/3 staff in that time as well as a solo player.

Loot caches have nice drops that are rewarding and progress you faster, and are pretty fun to get. The grappling climb mechanic is good and more fluid than I expected. The walkers seem to be more of a transport than a warship in pvp, but that will probably change with playstyle.

The trading outpost system will be an interesting mechanic, and should make for interesting control of lattices and resources, it's sort of a game within a game for all of you merchant dwellers out there.

The map is pretty desolate and doesn't make for great scenery, but the idea of having everyone connected in an MMO style server makes it exciting and the world feel large. It steps away from the weekly wipe survival game mentality where your investment of time doesn't have any weight behind it because your character will actually stay forever.

The grind seems to be short, reaching end game armor and walkers shouldn't take more than a day or two, especially if you're with a group and avoid getting ganked.. I expect this game to be ran by clans, much like Atlas... But you can still carve a piece of the world out with a small group of friends or even as a solo player.

Much like all early access games, if you're unsure or don't know if the game is for you, feel free to wait to buy the game when it is more established.

Although, the beginning hype of these games is a lot of fun to be apart of, even if they are often bug riddled and offline.. ultimately as with all survival games, the multiplayer aspect is what makes up 90% of the fun. And Last Oasis does a good job of risk/reward management.

Hopefully Donkey Crew don't make an ass out of themselves.

6.5/10

This game isn't like most survival games. It punishes players for k.o.s'ing, actually has good working vehicles, and can be played a lot of different ways. I'll go over some of my percived flaws and also some positives in my eyes. But TL;DR: This game is great for anyone looking for a different survival game.

- Flaws -

- Learning curve deters a lot of new players.

- NO ACTIVE SERVERS (anymore) there are only 2 GOOD none russian servers - and they lose a lot of their population 2 weeks after they reset. The game is really only fun with the social interactions between players, so when a server drops below 15-20 players and you can't find anyone to play with, the game turns into a lonely farming simulator.

- Problems with big clans and/End game. It isn't that hard to get to endgame, but it is very difficult to maintain as a solo/duo player group, this issue is probably one of the biggest issues this game faces in its current state, and a lot of survival games face this issue, but essentially... big clans can dominate and control the det caps (item required to raid anyone) on servers by just actively farming them and controlling the spawns in rad towns so no one can raid them because they get raided so fast and can't farm the items needed to raid the bigger clans.

- Positives -

- Farming and getting the end-game weapons/gear/vehicles is fun and rewarding.

- Pvp is really well fleshed out and feels rewarding when you get a kill. And it promotes social interaction because when you get a kill on a non-infamous player, you become infamous and can drop your gear - so there isn't as much kill-on-site as you get with other survival games and if you want to be a "bandit" you have to think about your surroundings a lot.

- Vehicles are great and have very little d-sync.They make the map feel alive wherever you decide to live.

- Bases are really limited to how big they can be, so even the largest clan can be raided by the little guys.

- TONS of social interaction - Decently active development - Modded servers that add a lot ot the dynamic of the game - and it just feels different from other survival games, a nice change of pace.

If you're into grindy survival games, and want something a bit different, give it a try.

This game is a scam, they advertise a game where "As a man or woman stranded naked" but you actually have underwear on.. what a scam, bad game.

Best game. Multiplayer is good, pretty active communities full of old people that yell @ me for not following their no sprinting rules.. like.. ♥♥♥♥ you. So I stick 2 the good old custom zombies, it's pretty active.. But you have to port forward and host if you really want to play, as not many people host.

TL:DR Multiplayer is solid and active - zombies requires you to port forward and host lobbies, it's actually a lot of fun.
