This game is in no way better than portal or portal 2. Then again, it isn't trying to be. My biggest problem with the game is the pact that it is a PAID mod. Yes, the content that you get is enough for the price, but when Black Mesa came out IT WAS FREE. That game had a good 12 hours of content while this one only has about 3 (awakening, dear esther, the satnley parable ALL FREE) That being said I don't think it should stop you from getting this game. It may not be perfect, but any excuse to go back to the labs of aperture science is enough for me.
Story 7/10
Originally, the story was sort of boring. The AI that talks to you sounds incredibly... normal. I could tell he was trying, but he didn't sound plain or british or full of himself. However, there are some funny lines and if you find the secret room in the last level, you'll have an ending that doesn't involve you dying tragically (it might be even worse.)
Gameplay 8/10
The new gameplay mechanics work to the best of the game, but that being said the margin of error for some jumps can be completely unfair, and this game being first person, you might accedentally walk backward too much and fall of a cliff.

The game is about as long as portal 1, but I might of gotten bored if it was too much longer

Everything looks pretty good. Except for your paintgun which is a huge step down from the beta skin. It's almost crazy how bad the paintgun looks compared to everything else in the game the model is blocky, and the skin is low-textured. It's just mindboggling that the thing that's going to be staring down my nose for an intire game looks so bad

The music is wonderful in this game. It captures the portal feel and almost makes the game more than just a paid mod. There is a new track on nearly each level making the game have more than just story to keep you moving forward.
