Big recommend. It's a nice and simple point and click adventure game. It does not stump you that often, and it's not difficult to know what can be clicked. I can not recommend this game enough.

The characters and story are good too.

I am quite bad at these survival\colony sims what have ya, but I managed to actually complete all scenarios (on medium mind you).

So I can recommend this game. It's quite easy to learn hard to master.

The only negatives I can say about it is that it's quite short with only a few scenarios, but there are mods for that I suppose which I will now explore that I finished all vanilla content

A little bit of a quick review.

Did you love the first Frostpunk game? It doesn't matter because this one is nothing like it except the setting I suppose.
Let me make this short:

The good:
Looks absolutely gorgeous.
Must have for SimCity lovers
Good setting

The bad
The UI is unintuitive
Making it so grandiose with the scope and everything takes away a lot of the charm that made the first one great.
The publisher made a disgustingly greedy choice - if you wanted to play on release date, you had to buy the deluxe edition, otherwise you had to wait 3 days after release day to be allowed to play, and that's not ok.

Overall, I am refunding it for now, but will probably buy it again when it goes on a big sale. However, due to the publisher's greedy choice, I will not change my recommendation. There is only one language these greedy publishers understand.

Do you like From Software games?

I always liked them, but I found them a bit too difficult. Elden Ring is a lot more managable for me actually.

I really appreciate the difficulty escalation. It's done in such a natural pace you don't notice it. At first it's only citizens from your country, and then it's those with entry permit, and later they add more stuff until you barely have room on your desk to check out all the papers.

At the same time, you have to be quick, but it's not overwhelmingly difficult to be good at the game. Definitely recommend!

Basically perfect. The only negative thing I can say about it is that it leaves you wanting soooo much more. I wish the creator would make another game in this style. not a sequel or anything, just another in this style. I loved it!

Granted I only have like 25 minutes of gameplay in this game, and I'm sure it is fun, but it is just "so Bethesda" I can't recommend it.

So now I've gotten around to testing the game for longer on a friend's account.
Ignoring stupidity with paid mods, this is what I think:

The new difficulty settings really are great. I can make it so enemies are easy to kill, but I am also easy to kill, which is kind of what I like in games. The combat is pretty fun, and I really like the animation of shooting enemies in their tanks and watching them fly off.

Unfortunately, that is pretty much where my praise will end. The loading times are such a bore. Traveling in your spaceship feels very unnecessary.

The immersion breaking when you see someone else using a door and they just fade out.

All in all, I still can't recommend it.

What can I say about this game that you don't already know... Just buy it, and if you're not hooked within 2 hours refund it, but I mean... come on.

IGN saying "uplifting and pure" makes me think they haven't played it. I love it, but it is very sad, in a good way because of how real it feels.

I am a big fan of tactical, turn based combat. I went in really wanting to like this game, and I'll say the story has me intrigued, and the characters are likable, but gameplay-wise, skip this one. The slow animation, the boring and unfair combat, the lack of variety in NPC classes.

There are much better games out there doing the same thing.
