Overall it's a good game, but right now the steam port just isn't ready, the game is not optimised for pc, even monster machines have been struggling to run the game, the camera is really dodgy and you can't even restart a run on pc yet.

however, the core gameplay is just an improvement of the old game, which means its still worth playing if you don't have about performance.

Overall its a pretty fun game if you can look passed the UI.

However i will say that the chaos system definetly need rebalancing, playing this game on harder difficulties is basically impossible because the chaos system basically stops you from doing anything other than rush the objective, The first type of chaos literally ends the game if you don't complete the objective fast enough, and the second one will send waves of overleveled enemies at you that you can't avoid, forcing you to use all your resources just to survive. i haven't even encountered any other chaos system since i'v been unable to progress passed the first map, my next run im gonna crank the chaos speed down to the lowest to see if thats better, because clearly im having Skill issues.

Act 2- Good
Act 3- Buggy, too much happening at the same time, my pc hates this act.

If you enjoyed warband for the multiplayer then this game isn't worth it

If you enjoyed warband for the single player, this game is 100% worth it

I certainly regret preordering the deluxe edition as that totally wasn't worth it.

Pros - Great time period with lots of potential
- Roleplaying
- Wars between empires are massive and are probably the best part about this game
- Trading mechanic, while basic, is a pretty cool tool which hopefully will be expanded upon and made more complex.

Cons - Paradox cut content for DLC. like CK2, they will have purposefully not included features in the game so they can sell them as a DLC at a later date (think Sword of Islam and Pagan Fury.
- It's a Paradox game, so that means DLCs are going to cost about half the price of the base game each
- No unique Religion mechanics, Omens are boring, you could do better Paradox
- Shallow traditions trees. Barbarian and Hellenic Traditions are too vague.
- Navy was completely overlooked because paradox is lazy
- Diplomacy is a joke
- Mana system is a joke
- events are a joke
- Character system is a joke
- Intrigue is a joke
- Tech is a joke
- Building system is a joke
- Forts are a joke
- UI is ugly
- Deluxe edition was a waste of money (this one was my bad tbh)

Anyway, can't wait for the full game to eventually be released by paradox for an additional £100

Great if you don't have any social life.

I love total war, mount and blade and age of empires, i did played this for 5 minutes and quit instantly. normally i give games a chance, but the quality of this one doesn't deserve a chance.

CK2 did DLC policy completely wrong. otherwise great game

Its fun i guess.
War of the Roses Combat - exact rip off
War Thunder Progression - almost exactly

Game is very fun, so much better than it was a few years ago, still need a beefy machine to enjoy the game properly though
