A timeless masterpiece, from Bioware´s golden era.

After about 110 hours of gameplay with the same character from ME1 to ME3, i can say confidently this is brimming with content, most of it quite relevant and engaging.

This legendary edition brings some well deserved graphics updates, but dont expect too much, the games are about 12 to 17 years old originally and sometimes it shows. Despite that, the narrative aspect of it really shines and makes it a relic worth playing till this day.

A bit of detail on the individual games:

ME1 is a bit rough arround the edges, meaning it lacked polishing in level design and secondary missions were a bit repetitive. Controls feel a bit clunky at times and it was overall too easy (played on normal mode). companions are more or less just cannon fodder.

ME2 steps up the game a lot, missions are more meaningfull, even the secondary ones. Controls feel more polished as well as the graphics. Difficulty felt much more balanced. We gain access to many companions, and now they can use their skills without you having to micromanage it, and they get a bit smarter as well. Companions also get one loyalty mission each, and pretty much all of them are interesting. Exploration aspect is beautifully executed most of the time. They also added two mini games for hacking that i think are quite fun, but could use some difficulty difference deppending on what is on the other side of the lock. Overall, this was the best of the 3 in my opinion.

ME3 is the most recent and polished of the 3. They maintained most of what worked well of ME2, but removed some features that i quite liked. Narrative-wise, this was for sure the most compelling, since it envolves the highest stakes, and a few decisions can be quite difficult to make. The only thing i really missed was that the connections with some companions from ME2 and ME1 were... limited, mainly if you romance a companion on previous games, that are no longer available for your squad on the third game.

For me, it is now among the must play titles for most gamers. Absolutelly worth the buy, especially when on sale.
