Physics seem really fun to mess with so far. You have to be mindful how much propulsion power you pack vs how your ship is balanced.

The weapons (such as mortars) in first person are tricky but fun to use. The controls are done well to give you basically all you could want to manage your weapons properly (shoot all cannons on left side, rotate camera, shoot all cannons on right side, alternate, etc).

Movement controls are great. Just remember to slow down / full stop before reaching land ;)

Conclusion: Easy to get into; seemingly, a challenge to excel.

Enjoyable as of now and, most likely, in the future, as well.

Spring Season nearly over and forgot about Steam to rate the game for how relaxing it is.

Best thing: No pressure. Play at your own pace. Just remember to tend the crops ;)

Update: 2023, this game is still cool and has more stuff to do now, wow!

A bit short in length, but it works ;)

Both unique and varied enough within itself. The extra enhancements from this livens things up a bit in The Commonwealth.

You'll surely get your Cods.....worth.

Mods add content.

DLC adds content.

Both are good yet the DLC is worth getting for what it contains (arena fighting, caged creatures/people, powered doors, garden plots, concrete building parts, etc) and what will be modded from it in the future.

5 usd is not much if you enjoy settlements / workshop mode. Even if you don't, it is a nice way to build yourself a little battlezone for fun between your adventures.

Long equation short:

First to list in this brief review: Settlement Size restrictions SUCK, but it makes sense to keep the game running smoothly. There are ways around it, so if your system can handle it, get around the system and enjoy!

Gameplay is very fun and fast-paced. Beware the barrage of explosives, though. If your playstyle is sneaky sneaky, then make sure you are very sneaky depending on the environment.

The Story is more or less decent. The little bits of details they place around the world in terminals / notes / etc is always cute.

Conclusion: I love the game. It is what you make of it as an open-world game / settlement building.

For Companions: Aside from Dogmeat, I like to bring one with me in Power Armor (no parts) for increased carry capacity while maxing their affection? toward me to unlock their permanent perks. Then onto the next!

I did not enjoy being touched (even though I actually did).

Made it to 100 before sleep time. And now I'm thirsty.

Started the game, chose Marksman, hated the slow movement speed, hated the 4-directional shooting, wandered town til I found the first area to go while still semi-clueless...

4 hours later, still playing and happy I bought the game for me and a friend.

Update Review 07/25/2015:
If you do not have this game, get it. (Make sure your system can more or less run it to avoid any stress.) I have hit 540 hours now and still going ;)

The updates/patches are still streaming in to further improve the gameplay and performance.

Again, still issues online servers with large amounts of players/data to deal with mostly on official servers.

Smaller, private servers and Single-player run very smoothly. Now with Non-dedicated mode, it should be even better to play seamlessly with your Single-player save file with friends.

Update Review 06/09/2015:
Just chiming in that the updates are frequent and the communication is, more or less, clear and fast.

Still plenty of issues, but at 68 hours of game time since release, I have been enjoying the game a ton.

Original Review:
Other than current performance that will be improved upon, the game is done well.

If you cannot handle poor performance, then wait until enough people confirm the improvement. Keep an eye on discussions, but don't sit and spam it without reading the stickies and using search feature.

I am glad that I received this game upon release since it will only progress to a better state to let me enjoy even more than I have already.
