This expansion has so many issues that it's fair to say that it's the probably the weakest one for FFXIV.
The story is 80% not worth it and becomes a labour to sludge through. The "Lead Character of the expansion" is nauseating and almost repulsively annoying with the ugliest voice in the game - which is just a SUPER GREAT "quality" for the person that speaks the most in the entire game by quite a big margin.

POSITIVES: The gameplay. It's good. The bosses are good to great. Dungeons and Trials are challenging and fun. The new levels and abilities to classes are nice.

If you're someone who won't mind having to go through a thoroughly unoriginal and boring story in order to make it to the boss fights then you can probably wrangle some enjoyment out of it.

Personally this game has made me happy to see a new expansion, sad to discover what they'd spent their time and resources making, downright bitter about feeling betrayed and sometimes angry about the awful decisions this expansion is full of. After completing the MSQ I haven't been touching it much. I think I need to go away for a while in order to try to be able to miss this game again...

I really enjoyed this DLC and I got many hours of gameplay out of it - most games would be over faster. The story is also pretty good.
Recommended. Buy it for a more jovial, light hearted Mass Effect type game.

With a whooping 9 minutes of playtime, I consider myself a wise sage at this benchmark, and will now give you the one true review:

It's incredibly wiggly.

Look at my hours played. I love this game. There's just so much to do and it keeps expanding. The possibilities for picking skills and biilding around it is just immense and truly impressive.

I loved it back when it first came out, but have since built myself a new computer and now it won't launch.
If you have an older computer: I can't recommend this game enough. Get it!
If you have a newer computer: Be ready to refund it. Check to make sure it will start up and play asap.

Bioware you easily fix this, but I really doubt they'll bother.

The game itself is for those who want to play a dark fantasy setting with a really good story with interesting characters.

Mass Effect but more cartoony and set in a Sci-Fi "wild west frontier in space" setting. It's all done really well but ultimately lacks the depth to push it into the 9-10 range. The story is good, the setting is very promising but the ending falls a bit flat and feels like they might have been pressed for time to round it up.
All in all easily worth the money and certainly an enjoyable ride.

This game has me hooked already.
It's not a looter quite in the style of Diablo og Grim Dawn though. You have to dodge attacks constantly and find the rhytm of your opponent to be succesful. Levelling also isn't nearly as fast, as you work to progress giving you the feeling og having achieved a little something for putting in the effort.
I'm not anywhere near the end content yet, so I don't know yet just how much time can be sunk into this, once you've achieved a run through.

An excellent update. I'm in love with this game all over again.

This game is a solid 9/10
Classic RPG with elements ala Skyrim and Fable. High fantasy setting with lots of drops and gear upgrades along with a nice combat system for those of us who want to keep it somewhat simple. The setting are stunning and the story is really good.
I loved it. It was just the sort of game for me.

If you don't believe me then look it up on Youtube. You choose some random tasks for your 2+ peons, read a bit of text and then you get a random result. It's ... the ... dumbest ... game. EVER.
The one soundtrack song I heard a few times is excellent though. Whomever made that deserved better than to be associated with this huuuuuge turd of a game. Person who made that song -> You deserve better friends.
