waited years for this game and its been a good time so far happy to see how much they have done

edit: After having played for a bit im still happy yet sad kinda, the universe is good for the goofy game it is and the story is actually nice between the main story and your companions. However the combat is a slog. Its skin deep at best and becomes really repetitive out of 5 galaxies you can explore each has 20ish systems you can check out and see the planets for their lore/ do something for a reward. Those somethings will either be a event, space combat or story combat.

Events are nice and quick giving lore stuff.
Space combat is okay and sometimes can be difficult.
Ground combat sucks, while having units that have abilities or passives that seem cool. You usually just basic attack, use an ability sometimes then sometimes ult. They add a evolution for your companions later on but instead of each getting a unique form they all do the same thing and visually basically look the same.

This wouldn't be that bad if rewards like dialogue, pictures, and clothes weren't locked behind each characters level, so if you want to get customization stuff for each of them gotta level them up. And the grind through 5 galaxies with over a hundred planets doing the same kind of combat without it being shaken up is mind numbing. Each battle varies on exp and at a certain point it takes a good bit to level up.

So instead of just going through the game and doing the side stuff here and there. If i want to unlock stuff as im doing the story i have to sit aside whole 4-6 hr sessions of just completing planets until my mind is mush.

Then go back to the main story and having fun.

After a certain point, ill go back and farm more planets til brain mush once again thus the cycle continues.

Instead of flowing together and complementing each other, the side stuff feels like its taking away from the good story they have. At a certain point i feel like i wouldve been fine if there wasnt combat at all because of how much of a chore it is. Quickest fix would be just add a skip button for combat so you can steam through them and get back to the good bits.

At first id have given the game an 9/10 for what it is but now id say 5/10 if you care about unlocking everything. 8/10 if you just steam roll through and complete the story without the side stuff because the story itself is very good.

Ignore the prattle of the archenemy whom whisper deception and traitorous words. Before the Allfather we shall show honor and loyalty for that our life is his. The Allfather protects, now go and obtain glory in his name. Or risk bringing shame upon your chapter, a wulf would rather die than share such a fate.

Gameplay good, sometimes feels clunky though shooting while strafing to the sides is feels very slow.

Cash shop wise, descendants are like warframes that can be farmed even the ultimate skins. Depending on which one you buy they cost between 300 to 900 of the currency so roughly around 7 to 15 dollars. Overall not worth buying multiple at the start maybe just get the one you really want at the start then farm the rest. Skins at the low end don't cost a lot but at the higher detailed one cost between 30-70 dollars while the ultimate skin bundle cost 100. There are other minor things you can get within the 10 dollar range and colors can be bought for around a 50 cent each but can only be used on one descendant per copy of it. Battle pass is alright at a 10 dollar price point. At the end of the day you can buy a descendant, get an alright skin and makeup combo with a couple colors for around 20-30 dollars if you reeeeally wanted to or just buy the battle pass and farm everything else though understand it'll take awhile to farm.

Story is alright so farm nothing ground breaking so I'd give it a 5.5/10 so far slightly above mid.

Enemy designs are different visually but mechanics wise you got runners who do melee attack, ranged units, and bigger ranged units either small variations in either health, weapon used or unique trait such as big guy with shield etc

Voice acting is okay though the lip sync is off for English version so it's like watching an old Asian fighting movie at times. The models are sometimes alive while others they act robotic so that can be improved.

UI is fine and pretty straightforward

Now to opitmization which is the worst part of all of this, many players are reporting between 60-100 percent cpu usage with some setups running into either cpu throttling to avoid over heating or their setup is just over heating. I have a 4060 ti, I5 12400F and 6 fans with Aio cooling. Running at high settings 1440p I get around 80 percent cpu usage but maintain around 40 degrees for my temp. While not an issue for me I understand many other pc players are having issues thay cause their game to either freeze or crash. Something that can be fixed but should've been fixed before launch, beta didn't give these issues apparently.

Then there's a small quality of life issue that I've seen but haven't tested since I use mouse and keyboard. People using controllers don't have vibrations when firing which I can understand could suck.

I'd say personally at its current state it's a 7/10 and an alright game to pick up that i wouldnt recommend spending over 100 dollars on and thats pushing it. To sum it up it's like warframe and d2 had a beautiful kid with slightly above average qualities.

Been enjoying the game a lot, only part i got confused on was the signing young players part wasnt really explained well and there isnt info in the game for it. Might just be me being dumb but overall a good time

Not for everyone, but it scratched an itch i didnt know i had and now i want more. Though there needs to be balancing since for example a JG can bring in two minons with the same hp and a slight dmg decrease. So when it ganks its a 3v1 since it has 2 pets and it just suuuuucks to deal with.

First id say that yes there are issues, frames do drop and ive had one time where the polygons didnt load in when i used a ferrystone but fixed itself after like 5 sec. Im using a 7 year old gaming laptop that was 1200 dollars and playing at high settings. Could lower it but there visual issues i see arent a big deal.

Second people are saying that the game is unplayable, and that is just a lie. They are acting like children screaming because their toy has flaws which yes i understand you paid for something but i played BG3 on launch and that even had problems. The developers have already stated they are working to fix it. I have 31 hrs in with no crashes and have been loving the game so far. Maybe my standard is too low, maybe these whiners standard is too high. I would completely understand if the launch was something like cyberpunk 2077 then i would agree with everyone saying its unplayable. It has some visual issues and frame drops oh god the world is coming to an end.

Third the core of the game is amazing, and i have loved every moment of it. With how dense this game is its a wonder that they sell it at 70 dollars. Which brings me to the micro transactions. Completely irrelevant, everything that you can buy you get within 10hrs of playing the game. When you think of how massive and long the game is that is a fraction of the time played so boohoo you need to play the game to for a small amount of time to get the things so what. RC is barely used so who cares, wakestones are just to rezz just reload and ignore them. everything else is either found for free or costs between 3000-15000 gold which isnt much.

The game has problems id give it that, but not to the world ending extend that these people are saying it is. Id recommend buying it now because it doesnt bother me. However if you really want it to be a flawless experience then wait for them to fix it. Regardless of when you buy the game, you should buy the game at some point because it is amazing.

Has the pvp and pve components that i wanted overwatch to have, the story has been fantastic

Even though there are bots I like the foundation of the game, some combat may feel little unfair but I feel like it just needs balancing.
