One hell of a time. Lucky for me i bought this after all the bugs that were released at launch were patched. Over 50 hours already and iv'e only crashed once, and that was probly due to me cranking up the max number of troops on the battle field to 500+. After playing hundreds of hours in native mount and blade and just massacering every lord i saw by mid game, I found it strange that i was struggling to keep a 20+ warband together in this mod. Every battle was tuff as hell in the start, with only a bow and hunting knife, it was pretty hard to get going. Units take an insane amount of time to rank up as well!! Some people might love this but i found it a tad discouraging at first. Battle after battle with my cheap peasent warband made me feel like i was sending these poor men on a death march. Because by the time i could level up one norse freeman to a companion, 10 more would die trying to get to that same rank. I just couldnt seem to make any head way. The once nobile king of all of calradia is now a sad dirty french man commanding peasents to there deaths one by one...

Horse? Nope your to poor.
Sword? Nope, here's rusty short dagger that cant block
PLATE ARMOR? HAHA No.... Your still to poor
BOAT? Actually Yes! Give me 2k Silver and you can ride inside mine!

BTW i love this game, everything i wanted and more. Totaly blew me out of the water guys, bravo!!! You earn everything in this game and its supremely rewarding becasue its sooo hard. after the poor man stage i described before, the game open's up to so many diffrent paths. From a famous warrior to a productive trader** Even to the supreme high king of all of england!! or of coarse a wicked scurge pillaging and raiding his/her way through england, rallying all the pagen factions to your side as you go

Once i got my bearings and figured out about the refuge trainer for trainging my men, and soon after the extremly lucrative trade route system. I finaly raised an army ready to face down my enemys in england. I took my ship made from good spruce that could hold 65 men and set sail to england from frasia. My hardend army is on the move to the kindom of mercia to loot and pillage everything i see. I loot and raze the first village i can........ and in the process some gosh darn vikings team up with the peasents and kill me again!!!!! Those buggers are ruthless with 50+ men.

I continue to play and enjoy to this day, countless hours of gamplay just like M&B, but even more variety.
Well worth the price of admistion :)

10/10 ** Some small bugs here and there but they didnt for a second take away from the experince.

Cant wait for mount and blade 2!! Ever since the early days of Rome total war and Medieval, i have always wanted to be in the action fighting with my troops. Honeslty, with the combined strategy elements and the best sword combat around, this game takes the crown for my FAV strategy game of all time! And i didnt even know about this game until 2014!!! Where have i been!!

Total war can start to get a tad repeative and dull after 100 turns, still fun but starts to loose its kick sooner than id like for a grand strategy game. But in mount and blade, the vast amount of activities keep you engaged for hours. Literally my first campain i spent over 30 hours on without a single other playthrough. And then i discoeverd mods like POP and i fell in love. The whole shape of the game is so much more personal than any of the total war game's. More of a first person perspective compared to the god like control you have in total war.

I LOVE THIS GAME, and recommend it to any gamer regrardless of your tastes!
May be the funnest expericne i have had with any game. With the campain/mods/DLC'S & Muiltiplayer this game is an absoulute masterpiece in my eyes, and should serve as an example to future dev's in the strategy genre

11/10

Very poor launch CA and i hope you learned from it. My playtime should be alot higher, around 100+ hours.
But finally!! after 20+ patches the AI and countless bugs are mostly all fixed and i can at long last.. recommend this game to a friend!

AI has been fixed and is now as good as shogun 2 (Not including Sea Battles), in some acpects like hill battles even better. FPS is fixed in most instances, for me at least using a gtx 660ti Boost 8 GB Ram 3.0 Quad Core on Very high/Ultra Settings

Now please lets see "Atilla" be a finely tuned and finished game on launch please :) Then im back on board CA! And on a side note, thanks for adding the faimly tree into Atilla! :D
