I absolutely love this game. I love its gameplay and mechanics and I would recommend it to anyone who is interested in it. I have tons of hours as survivor, but more as killer. This doesnt mean this game has problems though:

Pros:
-fun gameplay
-very fun with friends
-Devs care a great deal about their game and update frequently and work with its community (streams every thursday)
-offers a variety of survivors and killers with unique mechanics and perks to offer customized playstyle to fit any player.
-great stress reliever if youre really good as Killer
-not friday the 13th: the game.

cons:
-still has some bugs, but MANY have been patched and fix since launch
-game can be hard to play or unplayable depending on your network connection or the killers connection
-the community is quite toxic on both ends (survivor AND killer). Don't be suprsied if you find someone whos salty in chat.
-hook campers

Overall, I love it and I hope it will continue in a right direction for many years to come

Many people will say this game is just another overly-violent, purposely offensive game made just to piss off the general public and just, overall, be a distasteful game. I find this untrue. This game was published in 2003 and the early 2000's was a dark chapter for videogames. Violence in videogames was a huge controversy because false science was claiming that it made children become violent, and congress was pushing to ban it all together. This game was a response to all of this in my mind. This masterpiece of a political satire combines events and rising issues in america and portrays them in a funny, joking way. Events like the Waco Compound fire are combined with rising social issues like America's problems with islamiphobia and racisim/stereotyping. This game, in my mind at least, was made to say to the world "Relax, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ people relax. This is all a joke, but listen to our messages". This game shows the player the social problems society has without overwhelming the player with it and shaming them for it. This game is hilarious and offens jive and definitely should be played. Just wait for a sale when its 99 cents
