Oh man.. haven't felt so alive from a game since a long time. Absolute masterpiece - so many choices, so many mechanics, so many quests and each feels like a main quest-line. Bethesda proved once again that they are the best RPG developer in the industry.

Strong buy!

Now for someone generally interested and entertained by open-world games like Skyrim, The witcher, etc. I have to say that I was really enjoying Hogwarts Legacy up until I completed the main quest line. Since then I kind of feel like I am wandering about, with nothing to do. I would in fact recommend the game to fellow players, although I kind of expected the game to be more engaging (apart from the main quest), but the price tag sure matches the time and effort the developers have put into this.

Here are some of my thoughts on the game mechanics:
- The combat sytem - absolutely amazing as it feels really smooth and responsive even on PC - most games with this combat style, where you have to target somebody and such have sooo many hotkeys and such. Some things I believe did not make sense - for example Expelliarmus could not disarm trolls - which is weird seeing how they got this big a*s club that could be used to hit them back. Another example would be not being able to use Arresto Momentum on the bigger enemies (like.. I am ok with Levioso and other control spells to not work, but I could use the slowing charm on the big clock tower and not enemies like trolls)
- The world - very detailed and somewhat rich in dungeons and points of interest, one thing it was lacking however is purpose - apart from Hogwarts and Hogsmeade everything else just seemed like it was repetitive, even the small villages lacked character - overall it seemed more like I am a spectator, just wandering about collecting chests and scrolls.
- The puzzles - very disappointing, cannot lie. There was literally only one puzzle that buzzed me for like 5 minutes - the glowing moonstone Merlin trials. Apart from that even the main story trials were pretty straight forward and most of the times everything is solved with Accio and Wingardium Leviosa.
- The story - the story is 10/10.. really I enjoyed it very much, it was extended and took quite a lot of time.
- The requirement room - I am not sure whether I like the way its designed or not. I mean sure - you can do some things in it, but there were only so much functional stations - otherwise its only about design
- The beasts - cute beasts, gotta catch' em all, but they literally are the same functional entity - just brush it and feed it, farm its resource and go on (come back 30 minutes later for more).. It would be really fun to have them have special food requirements for more produce, or any at all.
- The items and equipment - 0/10, really disliked it. I spent half the game looking like a complete clown, until I realize I can change my appearance.. And then I spent the other half of the game enhancing new equipment all over again because I just found it somewhere in some chest. Also I somehow expected to be able to create my own equipment at some point of the game, and I got really disappointed when I found out I can't.
I really love to collect items, and this collection system really did not grab my attention at all - pretty straight forward all the way - either open chests or complete challenges.

I think I can go on, but this is already quite a long review. Buy the game, you will enjoy it.. but don't expect to be engaged for more than like 30-50 hours - at least until more DLCs are added and maybe the game begins to feature mods.
