Can only recommend, servers are still kind of meh and the offline lobby not being in-game sucks but if the actual gameplay improvements aren't night and day compared to Payday 2 then i don't know.

ANYONE WHO GENUINELY SAYS OR THINKS PAYDAY 2 IS THE BETTER GAME PAST 2015-17 IS COD ZOOMER OR WORSE A FORTNITE BRAINDEAD ZOOMER, ahem now that we have this out of our way,,,

THE COMBAT :
Fluid and weight, great damage response on the cops, simply fun to do, the shooting is massively improved
compared to PD2 and so is the actual response from the police as an actual security force with vastly better AI and finally not a COD-fest like in PD2 ( each cop has more health but are fewer in number total) ... weapons feel good and have weight to them, the newly added special cops are also a welcome addition ( Nader, think Demoman from TF2 ), ( Hostage rescue team, self explanatory ), ( Sabotage team, searches for your deployables and damages/destroys them ) OH and by the way you can now use civilians AND also cops as live shields that force the cops to melee charge you unless you expose yourself to fire at them.

THE STEALTH :
Much much better than PD2, words aren't enough to describe it ( or are they? ) ..
thanks to new options ( using lures to gain attention of guards, hacking cameras from afar or glitching guard's radio to cancel his action and use it to slip away ) the stealth is now actually a fun to journey through the heist, speaking of guards they now escort you to public areas instead of immediately raising the alarm, you can also use this to snatch their keycards that you can then use to gain entry into security rooms.

THE SKILLS :
So far they're kind of hit or miss, there are some great ones and few other not so great but ultimately i would
say this isn't really that different from PD2's situation, though of course a sequel should improve upon its
predecessor's shortcomings ( though PD3 is closer to PD1 than 2 which is also why alot of people complain ).

OPTIMIZATION/PERFORMANCE :
I'd say for unreal game it is quite good though there are negatives like Shader compilation not being present.

THE HEISTS :
All in all they too are better than in PD2 where more than half of them were simple reskins of the other,
they are now each unique in location and task and ways to complete them.

GUN CUSTOMIZATION :
Overall they are pretty nice though you have to grind for it but hey this is Payday so no surprises there.

GUNS THEMSELVES :
As mentioned before they are great to shoot with however each weapon has its own EXP level bar that ties with the customization mentioned above, takes me back to Crysis 3 MP .. ( which was god-tier ).

FINAL WORDS :
All in all Payday 3 is a great game with even greater potential in the future to be seen, does it have flaws?
Yes it does but what game doesn't? Now to be fair when compared to PD2 it does severely lack some QoL features but i do hope they will eventually add them in-game.

Game that has been review bombed for a very few good reasons but mostly not valid ones anymore, Optimalization has been fixed by 2 days after the release date, combat and other issues are subjective for everyone but do not deserve a mass negative rating just because you aren't skilled enough.
( i sadly also believe there was some anti-campaign from EA and such, the discussions were quite awful too )

PEOPLE WHO HAVE EXPECTED DEAD SPACE WERE NOT PAYING ANY ATTENTION DURING THE MONTHS LEADING UP TO THE RELEASE DATE, watch the interviews come on.

Combat is not the best but also not the worst, it simply needs you to pay attention and make some priority choices depending on enemy types you encounted but yes it could have been better, enemy variety could have also better slightly better but its enough to not offend.

I just finished my first playthrough on hardcore difficulty and damn what a ride it was, have to note i am on 1060 6GB but only had minor stutter mostly when it loaded or when there were too many effects on screen at the same time but the game looks great even on the medium quality i chose to play with.

The story is nothing unique at first but at the same time it is enjoyable and does draw interest later on with certain twists with elements that could lead to some potential great new IP if expanded upon, The characters are good, the atmosphere is excellent.

I sincerely hope this game made enough to warrant a sequel, we will however get a DLC this summer i believe since the game does end on a cliffhanger...

I will gladly recommend this game to anyone looking for an atmospheric horror game but be warned beforehand it is heavily melee focused but with options for range combat as well, albeit not that effective until properly upgraded.

I give The Callisto Protocol solid 8/10
