10 years later and this game went from a niche classic, to a piece of garbage, and finally to an unbelievably well polished bullet hell MMO.

Massive learning curve but once you understand the system the game is 100% free to play. The only obvious p2w is level 10 gems but these are far from necessary. As someone who has played and only bought skins since launch, if you keep up 6 characters raiding weekly (not even doing dailies) you can progress easily and experience the god tier end game content this game provides. Gate-keeping is a thing, but it's not a problem once you understand how to gear a character properly. If you are building blindly you will be rejected from raid finder, it's just the nature of how difficult later raids are, people won't take poorly geared characters. For anyone new my advice would be to focus all resources on one character, wait to make alts only when free power passes/hyper events are going on, and then use those alt's resources to pump your main. Gear alts slowly, one by one and only if you enjoy them, pumping multiple characters at once will only lead to anguish. Raiding and crafting character builds in this game is insanely fun and satisfying, the only problem on launch was the disgusting T1/T2 systems that new players were forced to play through while everyone else is in T3 doing the real content, which has been done away with due to the power passes that put new players directly into late game content.
