So I played like most of the game in a few sittings, and I loved exploring it's three distinct worlds and finding all the bosses and hidden secrets strewn throughout, I ended up getting stuck on one of the bosses and never picked it up till like a year later. I'm not sure how I got so stuck on the boss, because I beat it after coming back on my second attempt with relative ease.
There's a lot I like about this game from a story standpoint, I love seeing other Lovecraftian stories being used, how the main story is pieced together by powerup descriptions, dialogue, and environmental storytelling. Speaking of environment and all the character animations, just like their other games by Thunder Lotus, this game is hand drawn and then animated. And DAMN does it look good! Personally I really enjoy seeing the brush strokes on the characters cause it adds some feeling of otherworldly. Now onto the important part of the game, gameplay! It's fun! Bosses are huge in scale and this is possible because this game does a good job with its mobility. Having a good feeling with traversing the environment is very important to any metroidvaniaesque game, and this game gives you a whole lot of fun tools that make exploring the world relatively easy and enjoyable. I will say the powers you get from going down the eldritch path are suuuper tempting because they make the game feel REAL good. But back to bosses, their stages are huge, they have sick designs, and real scratch that eldritch itch I've been having. That is to say, some of the bosses feel like difficulty spikes and hit like trucks for like no real reason? It can feel weird going from the mini bosses to an actual boss because the difference in power is palpable. Also the lack of any real soundtrack makes the game feel 'real' but I can't help but wish it had one nonetheless.

8/10

THIS GAME IS $60 BUCKS? I bought it on sale for like $7 bucks?
I've always heard good things about this game, that it's well made and better than what you would expect.
And that's entirely true! It's a very well made and fun third person shooter/hack and slash game with cool ultramarines and orks and a third thing later on! Definitely worth your time, but not worth that high price tag. Wait till it's on a considerable sale before buying it.

One of these Wolfensteins are not like the others.
One of them is mediocre!
(It's this one)

(It's actually not the worst game ever, it just has a very lackluster story that's like 3 hours long if you only focus on the main missions.)
(Also it loses points for making me hear, "Trip to cringecity.")

A true treat for any Star Wars fan with a solid story and engaging gameplay to boot! It plays like a dark souls lite, with a minor emphasis on platforming which feels smooth and good to play as (with upgrades across the game that improve this). My only real complaint is how it feels just a smiiiidge held back from being something truly amazing. It can come off as shallow in some parts due to some slight oversight, but then you'll find yourself in the middle of a fun set piece and feel those worries be whisked away. The other thing I can point out is how even the most basic of enemies *will* kill you if you don't approach them with an air of caution. Lastly the extra end game challenge modes are both really fulfilling to play as well as difficult.

Let me start off by saying that this game is intense. It is by all definitions a rhythm game, but as I think any music major could tell you, some horrendous things can be done to rhythms. Instead of usual genre songs in a comfortable 4/4 time, Thumper opts for weird time signatures and bombarding you with audio cues, mush, and crashes. Tack on trippy early 2000's Microsoft screensaver effects, and this game will easily overstimulate you. And in my opinion, it does a damn good job of doing that and causing a sense of unease and tension. It makes you feel like you're fighting tooth and nail to make it to the end of a track in one piece.
With all that said, I need to touch upon a few things. There are obstacles along the track, and the game is nice enough to let you know what's coming ahead via audio cues. The unfortunate fact is those cues can and will be drowned out by the sounds of the music and the general sfx's of your little beetle boy riding along his track. This leads to the issue that you'll find yourself relying more on memorization than the intended cues meant for the player, which is a shame. Those moments where you find yourself in the flow, struggling and making last second twitch reactions are where this game feels it's most addictive. This leads to my next point, the only audio options you have in the menu are the total volume of the whole game. No choice to slightly raise the cues, or lower the music, or any of the other noise. I understand this was probably intentional so we as players can play the game as intended, but it would've been nice to have the option nonetheless.
Ultimately, I did love this game. Nothing about it was chill, the whole experience felt anxious and had my heart racing, but you know what? That was fun as ♥♥♥♥, and nothing felt more relieving coming out alive at the end of a level. Some of you might even find something deeper and more meaningful within the gameplay.

HO-ho-ho-♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. This one hits riiiight. The production and little details they have in this game are so much fun. The guns are satisfying, axing nazis is satisfying, the killer tracks of Mick Gordon are satisfying. You can tell the devs had a lot of fun making this game. Only complaint is it has the same issues I had with the first game, but to a lesser degree. Some story scenes feel too forced haha moments. But a really small problem compared with the rest of this game.

Okay I wrote out a really long and winded review about how this game included unneeded characters with bare bone development and a story barely held together by BJ's bare rippling chest. But you know what? When I was writing and thought about it, I realized that I had a lot of fun running around and shooting not only zombies, but *nazi* zombies. Yea this game is pretty fun.
Not as good as The New Order, but still holds its own despite being completely baffling in pretty much every aspect (besides gameplay and music).

Buy this game, but only when it's on sale.

You shoot Nazis. Pee pee poo poo 5/5
But actually the music made by Mick Gordon, our main protagonist BJ, and gun gameplay are absolutely badass. Some elements of the other characters and story though are boring/cringe at times, but it never gets bad enough to ruin the experience.

I played this game three times within a span of like 2 days, streaming it for some friends.
I cannot for the life of me remember anything of value about this game.
The only semi memorable thing are the funny little Italian realty brokers that make me feel like I am their wonderful and successful son.

Well that and the elephant.
Regardless, I found that despite its fantastic art style, quirky environments, and trippy sequences, the whole thing was a bit overrated.

Let's make this quick:
- I love this game, and I didn't think that I would
- Yes, it is quite difficult and the more fun levels are the hardest ones.
- You *can* play it single-player, but the experience is significantly more fun with a full party of friends.
- Friendly fire is always on. This can be hard for some to get used to. For others, it is a step towards griefing your friends in the funniest ways.
- There will be moments, where all hope is lost, all your friends are dead, and you're their only hope for reviving them while a horde of giant bugs/alien/robots close in on you.
- There will also be moments, where you get a rando in your lobby who guns you down and then leaves.

Anyway some of the most fun I have hard while playing an twin stick shooter.
