Okay let's start off by addressing what should be the obvious by now. It is one of those indie games that try to subvert your expectations about what it means to 'play a video game.' And by the by, I think it does it with marginal success. I really feel like to give this game justice, you have to go in blind and lower your expectations, which already isn't the best thing to say about it. But I say this as someone who genuinely enjoyed his time playing this game and (for some reason) teared up at the ending, this game doesn't know what it wants to do with itself. There are so many expectations and directions the premise and early game set up that I feel lead to dwindling results. And the ending result we do end up with is either really cool and meta, or just lame and flat. And I think that entirely depends on how much you think about what this game is doing and could have done.

Just. Try not to think about it too much, or else you'll end up with probably a better version of the game in your head.

Another game that feels like it falls into the horror game that exists just to be played by youtubers.

Bought it cause I thought it was a horror game????? Literally the most surprisingly odd experience I have had in a game. Both enjoyable and horribly cringe, it's like your 50 year old Russian father trying to be hip and relatable to today's youth. But he still manages to crack a good joke off every now and then. Last point, I felt like I played this games for 12 hours, but I am just now noticing I only played it for just below 4 hours?????

Please don't buy this full price. I felt like I overpaid at 5 dollars lmao.

Busty well dressed woman make my eyes and tongue shoot out like that Looney Tunes-esque cartoon wolf.

Also I felt like a lab rat working through complex puzzles to get his reward.

Are you younger than 20? Do you consider yourself *edgy?* Do you base your entire personality around your self diagnosed depression? THEN BOY DO I HAVE THE GAME FOR YOU.

But actually this game is a wild, heartbreaking, bleak ride. It addresses some hard and interesting topics. But despite the story's turbulent nature, what surprised me most was the genuine feelings of joy that manage to sprout in some parts of the game. It was genuinely refreshing and it felt good having some room to breathe. (I did however got the good ending so I cannot say this would be the same for the other endings.) Grim and full of melancholy, this game does it story excellently; albeit, a little *too* dark and brooding for its own good.

It's aight. Just another resource managing game that has somehow managed to still be in Alpha after what feels like my entire lifespan. However, it becomes 100x better online with friends. SO many funny stories with things going to ♥♥♥♥ and everyone scrambling to make the best of a disastrous situation. If you want my recommendation, buy it on sale and drag your friends along for 'Minecraft for Adults.'

So this game does a lot right, but it hurts itself with some odd game-play choices. Let's start positively with the story which is great! It has a little DLC prelude that sets up the tone and call to adventure beautifully for the main game. And as you unravel the mysteries of the Salazar House, you will (hopefully) empathize and feel for its residents. Likewise it has *just* enough to piece together the story, opting to respect the player in unraveling and interpreting its story on their own terms. I believe the story was good enough to push me to see all the endings. And I say that because the game-play itself felt like it didn't want me to play (which is in itself fitting for the story I guess?). You see while the point and click nature of the game is all well and good, there is a continuous hassle that follows you around. And it is genuinely really creepy... at first. But then by the third time of it happening, you 'll be wishing for something else/ just want it to go away. These monotonous encounters end up slowing the game and boring the experience, exacerbated by the rather large size of the house itself. It just feels like the developer wanted to pad the games run time? Which pains me to say, cause what he has here is really good! The low bit cutscenes/jumpscares are effective and rather creative. The story is well crafted for such a short experience. Overall, there's a lot going for this lil game and for what it's worth, The Horror of Salazar House is absolutely worth your time (though wait till it's on sale probably).

Also I think you can set the difficulty lower? If so do that and save yourself the annoyance that is The Woman.

Cannot wait till Maldo19 releases more games.

I bet you are wondering if you should play this game. Well let me say that as a fan of the hit Nickelodeon TV series Drake and Josh, that this game is very good if you like Drake Bell from the hit Nickelodeon TV series Drake and Josh. That is because he is in this game whole sale. Honestly, I was half expecting him to step out and tell me to not do drug. This is because in the story we play as a woman who does drugs. And as Drake Bell and common knowledge will tell you, that that is a bad thing. I have to knock off a point however, because there was no after-school PSA telling me to not do more drugs. Therefore, I'm going to go take some ketamine.
