I haven't spent a *ton* of time on this game overall but as a fan of fighting games in general I'd love to leave an honest review for the game and fight back against the incels complaining about the update removing tasteless content from the game: (I do empathize with those who purchased the art book to find content removed from it later but it's overall stuff that probably shouldn't have been in the art book to begin with so it's only a minor loss overall)

The good:

-Fun, fast-paced gameplay with engaging mechanics that allow for tons of creativity and player expression
-Exciting visuals and eye-catching art style
-Amazing and unique character designs
-Interesting story elements
-Killer soundtrack worth listening to even without playing the game itself
-Excellent online connectivity
-One of the most robust and intricate training modes ever
-Tons of fun little Easter eggs

The bad
-Almost everything that was removed from the game in the most recent patch (so a net positive)
-Mike Z is a piece of human garbage (also removed so yet another positive overall)

Overall, this game is nearly flawless and I highly recommend it for everyone who seriously enjoys fighting games, casually or competitively. The game's longevity, replay value, and reviews (prior to the update) speak volumes to why it's worth trying out, and when it's on sale it's a STEAL.

I played this game over a year ago and streamed my experience. I'm not going to do a crazy breakdown of each aspect of the game I will just do simple pros and cons and you can decide for yourself if you want the game.

=The Pros=

-Many characters to choose from, all with unique playstyles and neat designs. You can even play as the classic duo from the original RCR, and you can swap your cahracters if you're looking to try out others throughout the game!

-Fast-paced beat em up action holds up in this franchise. If you don't like mashing different buttons over and over again to beat up groups of enemies until they turn into money, then this game isn't for you. As for us beat em up fans, we kno what we're getting and there's nothing better than cracking skulls in the streets.

-Visual design and art style are top notch. It's got a retro feel while also bringing new fresh pixelated graphics to the table, and the animations and cutscenes are very well done.

-Crisp and satisfying game design. Each punch and kick has that satisfying whack and crunch, and the soundtrack is top notch.

=The Cons=

-Writing/storyise the game leaves a bit to be desired, which as it's a beat em up game you can't expect much, but I really wish the game delved deeper into the backstories of the new characters as opposed to just involving them in the affairs of the old RCR.

-RPG elements require a bit too much grinding. I know this somewhat contradicts my beat em up point, but I would like to beat up hordes of tougher enemies from time to time, as opposed to feeling like I need to go to the rich neighborhood just to beat up weaker enemies that just happen to drop more cash so I can get a new upgrade.

Overall, solid game 8/10 I have yet to try multiplayer but this game is definitely worth it, especially when it's on sale.
