Im playing solo and having a good time. people who were struggling with all the doors and the missions with 2 rifts need to go to barricade school! even before the update were they added more barricades to smaller groups i was doing fine and collecting skulls.
this game is a rougelite game with meta progression. don't expect to have a easy time beating bosses on your first fun. with trap upgrades and player upgrades you will get much more powerful after clearing a few stages and turning in your skulls. this game at this time looks like it does not have a refund skulls option, but after clear a run only doing 2 stages you can get a trap 2/3rds upgraded.
i miss the transformation upgrades from the earlier games, like arrow traps being able to turn things on fire and the other special upgrades and i feel like they sacrificed the weapon selection in favor of having whole kits built into each of the characters.

this game has nailed the balance of incremental style sames. each run feels unique as you get to choose new talents that effect the run dramatically. i really love the pixel art style. the animations of the gnorps is so good i have often stopped what i was doing just to follow some gnorp around.

this game is a wonderful mix of TD, and random reward style progression, featuring the adventure time caste and some new character for some monkeys. your characters get equipment and allies to power up from beating the levels letting you beat levels on higher difficulties for even greater equipment and allies. compared to other bloons TD games the levels are much shorter (a big + for me), while keeping the fresh level design ninja kiwi does with all their games. the way the progress works makes it so levels that would be impossible for you at one time will become a breeze later. I had a lot of fun working on cool combos of gear and picking what gear works best on what characters. all in all this game is great and i would love to see more games from ninja kiwi that use this type of format.

Early Access Review
7 days to die is a one of kind game, doing a balancing act perfectly between exploration, RPG elements and base building. the rewarding progress lets you advance in any way you want to play granting xp for building, harvesting and killing zombies. the game chooses to make zombies attack your base using smart attacks to increase interest as stupid zombies would be easy to defeat and grow old fast. by using a game stage mechanic new and more powerful zombies will be in the world later to make it so you must always be on your toes. the combat in this game is some of the best zombie combat out there as each class of weapon has its own way it plays, and the zombies themselves react to where they are hit so doing things like hitting a zombie in the leg will stagger them, while rewarding hitting the head with more damage.
