This is one of those games that's been on my hard drive since it came out. I don't play it a whole lot, but sometimes I'll just have an itch, and spend a week playing it. Hands down the best pirate game out there, unsurpassed in all this time.

My only complaint is the dancing. Not because it's not fun, but because there are one or two songs that do not work the dance steps. As long as it's not one of those songs, dancing is fun. If it is one of those songs, I have to immediately restart and load the arrival save.

This is the only game I own that I've never uninstalled. It's not a game you play every day. It's a game you randomly get an itch to play and then spend a week on. It's the answer to any "I'm looking for a game like..." quandry. Don't believe me. Check /r/gamingsuggestions.

It's not the most amazing game out there. But there's something about it. It never gets old, at least for very long. Sure, I'd love an extension to the "storyline" (of which there really isn't one). Sure, I'd like all kinds of customization options and different ways to experience the game. But once you get bored with the base game, start looking through the mods. There are some decent ones on the Workshop, and a whole lot more elsewhere on the internet. Want Warband, but in your favorite fantasy setting? ASoIaF, WoT, Star Wars, LotR, whatever else you fancy? There's a mod for that. Do you prefer something more realistic, but with samurai, or muskets, or true vikings? There's a mod for that. Do you want better control of your fledgeling kingdom, and maybe some vassals that aren't mostly useless? Yeah, you get the picture.

In fact, you've probably already bought the game. Everyone and their mother has at this point, so if you haven't, you're falling behind. Fix that.

It's Master of Magic, reskinned. And that's a good thing.

More spells, more wizard customization options, more planes. No complaints.
