I feel for the guy that gave this a negative review. The one that tried and tried and never made a penny.. I did have a lot of those games because quite frankly I am terrible at math. that helps to have a bit of. But like all these games I love them very much and I over came those broke days and you'll see I have a few achivements even now in this game.. This is a wonderfully fun game, for profit. I've not won a game yet, because I love the starts the best out of everything these types of games give me.. a challenge to over come.. I love the boats in this game if you get lucky you can use the rivers for trade routes and those boats move a lot quickly. You just have to take time and prepare your war of trade. although your not competing against anyone else. You will compete against the game. But if you pay attention, to what your doing, you will make that profit, in no time at all. Buy into it now and make your input heard. they are surprisingly attentive to the suggestions and they offer help to get you going. This is the best game of its kind, I believe that with my whole heart! this game is currently on sale take advantage of that, but don't think for a second you will waltz in here and wiz thru it all.. They have just started adding the underling foundation for Mods, and I expect a lot of them like Rim World has.. I think they should consider multi player. but maybe that's over the top.. it's not easy, expect a real challenge , pay attention and do your research for what is currently open and you will turn a profit, and eventually you'll build the car that wins the game, unless your playing this type of game like me and love the starts to them all.. You will earn your victory.

This is a Review, it is neither a Yes to buy or a No to not buy. I've played the game 126 hours at this time. Personnally I am Happy with the pick of buying this On Sale. This game is a constant battle between playability and lack of it.. Some things are flat maddening and others are and easy breeze. I've just compleated the Third Campaign and I have also played or started several other types of games, like Sand Box and the Senerairos They all have pros and cons to them in the issues the game has and the things is does very well.. I'm not telling you about the great senery or the over all atmosphere of the game they are each done well in my eyes When you play the other area's of the game you can tune it to your liking that is a very nice feature of this game.. and that is my review! just to make it clear I bought this on the Steam Sale of it.. So I paid to play! I am checking RECOMMENDED but read this reveiw first.. If you think the hassles are to much don't buy it. But I'm still playing and I am enjoying it minus the issues This game has a HUGE learning curve as it stands at this date. The AI it seems can move your stuff at will or by a huge accident, I don't know but I suffered a complete station channge as in the lines on the back side all changed to the wrong place thus intereing with my express train and I found a brand new line on the front side with a train running on it my train that I never placed? I have had this happen in one campiagn and someone else on the forums told me they had a very similar insident in there game...

First of all if you like this type of game, if you put the time in to learn how to play you should Love this game, hands down.
I have 711 hours in train fever and 267 hours in Transport Fever. I am the type of person that uses twitch and you tube to get a good grasp on a game before I play it, so I had several hours of watching others play the game and knew enough to know what works an what doesn't work.

I've seen a lot of lag complaints from new players and even some older players. One they did have to change how the games saves the yearend save. it takes much longer then it used to in transport fever. Why because this game is massive and complicated to boot. everyone lags when you get to end game there are just flat to many tasks for any computer to handle smoothly. the yearend lag and end game lag, I put up with because I like this game. which totally surprised me, I basically never watched the genre, until one day I found a you tuber that seemed interesting playing this game, and I caught the infection, so to speak.

But those of you complaining about video card lag, your wrong about this game, it is top notch in video and game quality. you either dont actually have a video card in your set up, but a chip, and I5 is a laptop proc and its not going to handle the untold numbers of tasks nor is it going to run 60 fps, when you have every thing turned on and over the top . its going to lag like a sick puppy. go into setting and turn them all to miniuim.

I run a first genertion I7 and 6 loosy gigs of ram I have a very old out of date video card too, a GTX 460 v2 its got a few more letter in its name, but it handles this game very well for an out dated and low end I 7 I still mostly turn up the graphics, I'd rather lag then not see the bling of my trains. I've had very very few crashes but I had some. when I turn video setings down I only lag at the years end save and late game, as it should be, in a very complex enviroment. just think of all the things that are running in the game it all adds up to lag at end game. I put up with it I know I don't have nearly a high enough computer to handle this.
I sincerly reccomend this game as a BUY. If you know you enjoyed some earlier games that were very much the same.
I have paid for all of my games , I never take freebies for doing something. If you have a low end computer and believe it can run this think again! your going to lag severally at times, there is just too much going on in the game. If you won't turn your graphic's down to the lowest settings and then gradually raise them until you hit the wall with your graphics, your probably going to hate the game. I read the states of poster most all of them are playing I mid to low end computers and believe they compeat with the guys at the top of the pile. know what your machine is really made out of, I buld my own so I know every part it has.

If you don't want a lot of issues laying track play a flat map, I love those issues and so play accorningly like mid or even moutain maps. I like the challenge of it, I like starting out slowly and profitablely, I don't take loans very often. its another challenge to make the game harder. some of the maps you get a very well done for being random. accept I hope they reallize something in the near future, America isn't all sand, very litlle of it is. you really need a map generator that does half and half, that would be more acceptable,

Lastly don't expect a walk in the park. its not super easy to play. its has demanding as any high end game is.

At the time of this review I have 69 hours of play, I've not yet left the Desert Planet but I'm in no hurry to do that. I tend to start over at every patch because that's the best way to test a game your playing. I've slso discovered that for me I need to verify my game cache everytime I exit the game. If I don't do that I end up with many of the complaints you see on the forums, and when I reverify after the fail I get a 0 0 patch file that then verifies but the extremely bad AI and many other things stop.

Okay review
I really loved Banished but PlanetBase does many many things Banished can't do without mods. This game is NOT Sime City or Cities Skylines, so First and for most if you enjoyed or like Banished or Stonehearth or that type of game then this is your style of game.
I love figuring out how to place things for best results and keeping them as happy as possible. The challenge of overcoming disasters, that are your constant companion, and you won't keep everyone alive because of them, Colonies on the edge of life are high risk. I recently suffered a Starvation event, that I'm afraid was my fault. and I made it even worse, because of how I don't use constant trade ships, so from high 70's to 12 before I was able to recover and they are over 100 strong now and pretty happy to boot. making cons from vistors creating a good security set up, to keep out intruders, are all possible and attainable as the game is now. Yes it has bugs and they are responding to those and adjusting the game. You can easily die your first day, the tutor to this game is you friend something many game tutors are not, but it won't hold your hand once you start building your own. Management and learning to build within the game provisions makes for a very good game on its own, blindly playing and not learning how to play it, will never be a success. If you expect to do what ever you want, You best learn to do that withing the games structure or failure, death and lossing, will be your reward. That is how a game is, this one is no different stay in the rules, grow a great colony, There is most deffinetly a Real Life quality to this game, of things we can actually almost do and soon may well do. I'm enjoying this very much. And I may add way better then those others I mentioned and this point in this alpha's life. This game is going to bring it can you respond in time to recover and grow to even higher hieghts.

Some people mentioned the Saki Anime and many of the ways to win are extactly like what went on during that anime, LOL, anyone remember "Bottom of the Sea" well its in this game.
I can say that for what is there the game works flawlessly, but many other things are there that are not implemented.
You definitely need to know how to play, Japanese style Mahjong or this is a no buy for you. If you understand the game but are still relatively new to a moderate player with Japanese Mahjong, you will have fun playing this. if you are advanced and would be happy with the girls, probably. But if your looking for a serious high quality game, this is not it. But then the introductory price already told You that information.
Thanks to Zoo and Steam for finally releasing a "real" mahjong game on Steam
I will recommend this game based on my caveats above.
