I wrote this comment on Reddit and it nails my feelings on this game.

I normally wouldn't go within 10 feet of this genre. I would rather play Stardew Valley or Skyrim.

I spent 4 hours yesterday stealth archering deer and building my house. It's got multiple weapon styles, skill progression reminiscent of Morrowind, and an ambiance you can just soak into.

They ever add more npcs or factions with recipies and I could play this game forever. It's the only itch this game doesn't scratch...yet.

For the price of 4 coffees you can build your dream viking house. You may need those coffees staying up till 2 am playing this though.

Rimworld. The Sims meets the ruthlessness of Crusader Kings.

I can't recommend this game enough. It inspires a Civ-like desire to think about what you are going to do with your colony next when you're not playing it. That alone is worth the price of admission.

Don't forget the mods. Vanilla Expanded is a great start. How else can you have a clan of bloodthirsty, bisexual Vikings?
