This is objectively a very high quality product and probably the best DLC from has ever made which is saying something. There are small performance issues in my experience on a fairly low end PC and the bosses are quite challenging.

The majority of people complaining about the game's difficulty don't seem to understand how scadutree blessings work(it's basically a leveling system inside the DLC for raw % increases to offense and defense which is as strong as it sounds). This is the equivalent of people complaining about rushing Margit when the game first came out without upgrading or leveling(albeit with a much harder boss). Personally I do not use summons but they are also clearly signposted to be more expected for the player to use against some of the DLC bosses as well.

Amazing DLC and it's had me absorbed with new build defining items and crazy exploration for hours already past the first handful of major bosses. It's brought back the rush and sensation of nailing a hard boss down after dozens of attempts again.

I'll preface this by saying the first game was in my top 10 games list with half a dozen playthroughs:

DD2 is a hell of a ride, It's got some bumps but there is no other game series that can deliver the type of adventure that DD does. I hope they improve upon the game over it's lifespan with some of the feedback and give it an expansion worthy of the legacy that DD:DA had. My biggest issue with the game is just the lacking difficulty past the second half and limited build options(Had to impose difficulty challenges on myself in the second half but I still had a great time)

If you are unsure on this game or the performance issues I recommend wishlisting it and picking it up on sale (Capcom games usually get very good ones).

It's a unique worthwhile experience, and if you hit it off with the game it's 50-100 hours of discovery and the feeling of adventure. Not perfect by any means but with any luck and the results of the survey we we're given it'll be an even more exceptional journey by the end of it's release cycle.

Excited to play it again soon.

Early Access Review
A constantly changing early access game that feels like a fully completed experience at every step of the way.

First procedurally generated metroidvania style game that I have played to do the concept justice.

Borrows the best elements of Rogue Legacy's progression system while giving a fast paced combat that carries the entire concept of the game. Dead cells has some of the best combat you will find in a two dimensional game.

The entire game is fast but especially the combat benefits from this. controls are tight and I rarely ever feel weak or cheated out of something. Couple this with the multitude of builds you can create with unique weapons that support various strong playstyles and you have a formula that gives a very addictive "one more run" feeling.
