This game has a lot of the balance, tension, and dynamic strategy that Balatro always lacked for me. Like Slay the Spire, Dungeons & Degenerate Gamblers' battles test different strengths of your deck, and one must understand the tricks of edge cases of different opponents to fine-tune a winning deck, or at least survive a bit longer. The events have a lot to offer as well. Loving this so far!

Early Access Review
Watched a bald Canadian Youtube dad play this; beat death on my second run likely due to witnessing said Canadian's trial and error.

My favorite strat? Picking up weapons.

Good game :)

This game is mega immersive and rich in a "you will get your limbs permanently hacked and you'd better like it" kinda way. It can be really slow at times--like if you're imprisoned for 50 hours by the Holy Nation for being poor and stealing food--but that's just the way this game rolls ~baby~. Lean squads and early game adventures are the best experience imo, as the larger resource management and unit automation gameplay loop can be a taxing slog. Still though, non regrets; it's a grand and intoxicating game. Maybe even...based????

Super eager to try Kenshi 2--however long it may take before it comes out.
