Revising my review, now I do recommend the game. Server queues have been addressed by creating (a lot) more servers. Game remains as stable as ever. Also after another additional hours of gaming, there's lots of fun fun fun doing whatever I want to do, be it solo or in a small group. We're mostly PvE atm but will try PvP side of things soon. There's a lot of room for improvement but this is already a good product, well worth the money, stable and effective at what it does. Recommended.

I really really want to love this game. Right now I can't. Not because of any specific game flaw. It's just that right new this is Queue Simulator. 50% of the times it crashes before it finishes the queue and lets me in. Then I have to go afk a bit and get kicked by inactivity and have to retry for another 2h. I hope I can review this later, but right now? Don't buy it. I will not ask for refund as I've loved what's inside.

Early Access Review
Early access is, as stated, early alpha. So no surprise we're already at the 2nd maintenance downtime. Looks like devs are handling stuff. For instance: first bug forced players to "tow" ships, with 500 credits, devs just sent everyone affected those 500$ which allowed us to keep playing. Attitude. A positive one. As for the game: I did not have a closed alpha/beta access key so my first impressions are not influenced by any previous experience. The flight mechanics is solid. The inventory model is solid. Crafting looks good too. Tech tree clearly incomplete but looks ok to me. Game is extremely fluid, smooth. Interface works. Obvious helper stuff missing, like my ship being hard to find. So far I like what I see. Next weeks will show if the pace of development and stability fixed go they way they should! Anyway congrats Frozenbyte on a job well done. Money well spent. If you don't mind a unfinished and obviously not so stable product, buy it. The content is already worth the money.

This is awesome! Everything just works. Walking, running, combat, crafting. The unusual feature of being able to jump between servers and even SP while retaining the same char, same skills, same inventory. Grinding is reduced to essential and opportunity for combat is always around the corner. The way you evolve includes summoning and killing bosses so while it's 100% open world sandbox, there's evolution and guidance. Building does not have 1000 blocks but what it has works well and makes for a good experience. Weapon types, food types, everything makes sense. This is how every game should be. Highly recommended.

This is a great game. Fighting 1hand and 2hand weapon combat as well as ranged (bow and arrow) combat are well implemented. The sandbox nature of the world allows you to define your own path and you can even NOT follow any of the storyline steps at all if you so wish. DLCs are good: not pay to win; mainly cosmetic but with awesome new building blocks and other stuff that will benefit your experience. I would strongly suggest you play it with a couple of (free) workshop mods like Age of Calamitous that greatly improve on the already good game experience. Building is good, crafting and tech tree are GREAT. Taming and horses are quite recent and although already nice to use are still too minimallistic. Highly recommended. Don't buy at full price as there are frequent discounts. Got my license for around 11€.

Got the game after the NEXT upgrade. It's not perfect. MP is not MP, more like 4 people single player that can see each other, but that is what was announced. Plenty of fun there anyway, and room for improvement.
What you do get is immersive storylives, that you can choose to follow. The game does not force you to do anything, but it's there to help you when needed. It's first ours are brutal for newcomers. Amazing game mechanics on station building, armor/ship/knowledge/crafting progression. Nothing comes easy, but that's part of its charm. I have not been playing for a very long time but I can see our team playing it for months, even years. For the reduced price, it's highly recommended. If you do want true MP, then wait for a couple more expansions. The community is passing the message loud and clear: we want better MP, please as we are with the little MP we got so for. For 20-30€ ? Buy it!

I've been playing this game for some time, most of it with friends in co-op in our own server.
Pro:
- good close quarters and ranged combat with several weapons
- decent air-to-air air-to-surface and surface-to-air combat
- you can build in any wait you want
- and you can also have blueprints to help you build.
- balanced resource gathering
- different start planets for different player types (Omicron can be a challenge and Akua offers a nice planet for those wanting to take a more relaxed approach to game start
- midgame is decent
- interesting "dungeons" (alien bases)

Not so good:...
- midgame to endgame does not present a challenge
- almost no real endgame goals. (let me clarify: if it's your first go at it, any alien base will look like endgame; once you gather a couple of friends and lots of resources it quickly becomes easier than it should, imho).

All in all WELL WORTH THE MONEY, also I have to say GREAT DEV TEAM who won't compromise improvement of basic game functionality by focusing on more content, yet. More content IS needed but at this (rock solid) alpha stage it is a good sign that devs have a solid foundation upon which a LOT can be improved.

Thumbs up, no doub on that!
