Review update: I forced myself to make it well into mapping, to convince myself there wasn't some actual fun to be had after the campaign. Spoiler: Nope! No fun for you!

This game is so f'ing slooooow and boring. I fell prey to sunken cost fallacy, kept thinking "surely it'll get fun any moment" - nope! No dopamine hits anywhere, none whatsoever.

The game feels as if management directed the devs to capture players in the game artificially long. Are they trying to boost time-in-game metrics to show their investors? Because that's what this feels like, a total lack of respect for players' time. This only works if there's something in it for the players, like loot or interesting game play - neither of those to be had here.

Other fatal issues:
  • So sloooow; killing trash is slow, killings bosses slow, walking so slow
  • Bosses have stupid high hp, not difficult to beat, but tedious and boring
  • One-shots from off screen, no idea what kills way too often
  • Very little loot, even from bosses (I've got sh*t equipped from campaign still)
  • Crafting mats few and far between, can't craft your way out of inferiority, brick nearly everything
  • Mobs scale faster than you, you'll never be on top
  • No phase/blink mechanics, mobs will corner and kill you often
  • When you die in campaign, the zone entirely respawns, you'll have to clear over and over again
  • When you die in maps, that's it, the map and all its loot is gone
  • When you die anywhere, poof! There goes all your loot!
  • Maps like hiking across the sahara they're too expansive
  • Found a good meta build that's actually fun? Boom, nerfed!
  • No reward loop, all slog, soul draining slog

Gonna play another 1300 hours before deciding if I like the game or not.

Unplayable on multi monitor linux install, has serious mouse issues, and game won't stay 'pinned' to primary display.

I bought this on a whim during a half off sale, I tried to play it for an hour, and just requested a refund. The game consistently spawned my start point in the middle of the ocean, and out-of-bounds, making the game completely unplayable. I tried joining 5 different servers, with the same results. I researched and saw the same bug referenced over a year ago. I also saw the devs say it is due to server resource strain, except in my case I was the only one in the instance, so couldn't be that. No known workaround but to bounce the server, but to do that, you have to be the owner of that hosted instance.

Also, I looked into hosting my own server, and found out this is impossible, since a company ID3 has a monopoly on "renting" instances. OK fine, I don't agree with the devs deciding to do this, but I'll respect it since it's their decision. The kicker is, that with the monopoly, ID3 mandates all 36/36 player slots be purchased, equating to 36EUR/month, which is $40.44 USD. So if I wanted to run a lone server for just myself to play in peace, it'll cost me $40 each month. Note, the devs made this arrangement with ID3, but also claim they have no power over the pricing or renting terms -- I don't buy it, since how else does ID3 get the server files to host in the first place? The condoning of this pricing racket is implicit, if the devs keep allowing ID3 to be their sole host renting provider. (I gues several other games allow renting instances too, but the Miscreated prices are about 2-3x of any other game, and also gouges you by forcing all slots to be purchased).

So there you have it, some glitch and poor business decisions make it so I couldn't even properly evaluate the game play, and I honesty just don't want to waste any more time or money trying. I can't recommend anyone plop down cash for this game, since I suspect it's highly likely you'll have the same experience.
