When are you going to die?
It could be 30 years from now or it could be tonight. None of us know when we will die, but we all know that we will. When it happens to you, will you have lived a good enough life to enter heaven? Most of us think and hope we're good enough for heaven, but there's no guess work involved. God has given us a standard by which we can judge ourselves.

How many lies have you told in your life?
Have you ever stolen anything, regardless of its value?
Have you looked with lust? (Adultery of the heart)
Have you ever hated a person? (Murder of the heart)

This is just a portion of the law of God. When you stand before a righteous and holy God on judgement day, will you be innocent or guilty? Heaven or hell? The answer is clear. If God gave us justice, you and I, we would deservedly end up in hell.

But there is good news. You have likely heard that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, died on the cross for the sins of the world. But you may not understand what it means. If you can understand what truly happened on the cross, then reading this steam profile may change everything for you.

We broke God's law. Jesus paid the fine. When Jesus died He cried out "It is finished". In other words, the debt has been paid. He took the punishment that we deserved so that we could be forgiven, reconciled to God and be given eternal life. All we must do to receive this gift is repent (turn from and forsake our sin) and trust in Jesus. This is what He said: "“I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die.."

You cannot earn salvation by your behaviour and the Bible is not a manual that tells you how to do that. This is what the Bible says: "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast." When you repent and trust in Jesus, He will give you a new heart with new desires. You will change from the inside out. I'm not saying this because I read it in the Bible, I'm saying it because it happened to me. And it can happen to you. When it does happen to you, the words of the famous hymn will finally make sense:

Amazing grace, How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me.
I once was lost, but now I am found,
Was blind, but now I see.

Please think about this seriously. Your eternity is at stake.
