Absolutely fantastic game, and the scope is astounding considering this is the first release from the fine folk that worked on the 'Long War' Mods for the modern XCOMs! Even the initial game's in-depth grand strategy layer of having your chosen faction vie against others for control of Earth's nations would be enough for me to spend hours upon hours playing, but on top of it is a space colonization game as humanity reaches into the solar system, plus ship to ship space combat! This is a game that will admittedly take a high amount of time investment as it can be a slow burn, but I can't possibly recommend this enough!

This is a great Choose Your Own Adventure game that I would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for a well written story or for those who like the genre. The characters are compelling and the choices have an effect on everything from side stories to relationships. Each archetype offers different strengths and weaknesses that change how a situation will turn out, and your personality will affect how the public, faculty, and heroes perceive you. Also, multiple options for romance that should appeal to a variety of people. Now, this is part one of a three part trilogy, so the story doesn't end here. Your choices can and will be saved for the next installments. I'm looking forward to what Eric Moser has in store for the future and I hope you too will enjoy his writings.

To those saying it won't work - there is a simple workaround, easy to find with a quick search.
Now, this isn't a great game. It's an ok game. But, for 5 bucks, Shattered Union is well worth it. Fight a modern day civil war across a fully destructable US as one of 7 factions, like the Midwest, California, and even the EU. The AI each has different personalities per game, which affects how it will fight. Each map focuses on a small region of the US, with accurate towns/geography. Your actions on the battlefield affect your reputation - preserve landmarks and buildings and you gain precision abilties; destroy everything in your path to victory and gain powerful destructive weapons.
All in all, it's a fun, old, tactical turn-based military game.
