lets look at some facts.

Fallout 3, a great AAA game for its time, came out in 2008.

It took Bethesda 7 years of development, and re-development to finally give people Fallout 4 this coming november.

Now, the team working on DayZ have only been working on it for 2 years. They have also had members leave, and new people come on to the team. They are, as compared to Bethesda, a very small team. The smaller your team is, the longer development takes. With that said, it still took Bethesda 7 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ years with a huge team to create Fallout 4.

The reality of it is this; it could be another 2-5 years before DayZ is finished, or at the least is out of Alpha. So, if you want to help that team along, and get to play a game that IS STILL BEING DEVELOPED, then by all means buy the game.

But if all you want to do is buy the game and then give it ♥♥♥♥ reviews then ♥♥♥♥ off. they have a very clear disclaimer telling you that the game is in its infancy.

Bit of a side note here. It seems like people expected this game to be finished or be in Beta by now. What people seem to forget, is that this game was created from scratch. The DayZ mod for Arma was relatively easy to make, as they already had all the code and resources at their disposal. This is not the case for the Standalone people....This game has literally been created from the ground up with new code, new assets, and a smaller crew then the team that made Arma.

No one should under any circumstance compare the development life cycle of DayZ:SA to the DayZ Arma mod. Other than overall end goal, they share nothing in common. Different code, different assets, different team.
