I found the DLC to be overall quite good, like most people I didn't like the last boss at all, so don't get your hopes up for this. Also I wasn't a big fan of the fact blood maykrs could slow you. Stripping the player of its speed in a Doom game is such a terrible idea. But other than those two things I really enjoyed this DLC, and there was a lot of challenging encouters that compensated for the current lack of master levels in the base game.

I haven't had that much fun with a video game in a long time. Took me about 22 hours to complete the base game on ultra-violence (100%) and I loved every single minute of it. Definitely one of my favorite games of all time now.

Not only is it one of the best arena shooter ever (if not the best), it's defininitely one of the best FPS ever. Period. The gameplay is difficult to master yet simple enough so that a beginner can easily get into it. There is a "campaign mode", in which you customize your own team and then go through various battles against other teams. There are a lot of modes to choose from. From the simple deathmatch and capture the flag, to the more complex assault and onslaught, this game definitely has a lot to keep you going. Every gun (except maybe the bio-gun for my part) is fun to use and even has alternate fire which multiplies possible combos. The level design is definitely one of the best part of the game for me. Not often do I play games in which I enjoy almost every map it has to offer, and it has a lot! And if it still isn't enough, there are even maps made by modders which has the same level of quality that the official maps have. You'll go from industrial facilities, to castles and even high up into space. There are maps for every tastes. The soundtrack and sound design are also amazing. Even though it is a game from 2004 the graphics still hold up really well. I don't think there is much more to say about it other than the fact that this game is a straight up masterpiece. If you love shooters, you've got to give this one a go!

Halo is back on PC. Is this the future or what?

If I had one game I could bring on an island, Doom or Doom 2 would certainly be in my choices, it's the kind of game that I can play anytime and I know I will have fun. The games themselves are incredible and with 20+ years worth of mods there's an infinite amount of replay value.
