I have a great time with this game. Yes, it's derivative of Vampire Survivors, but it has enough tweaks and convenience improvements to stand on its own merits. The co-op feature alone justifies its publication.
Fantasy tropes and classes a re well represented both aesthetically and mechanically. The process of gearing up is thematic and varied across the different characters. It's not just a shallow reskin.
The meaty whacks of large melee weapons and knock-back are very satisfying. Overall, it feels a lot more "in control" than other VS types.

I didn't think it was possible to make a videogame that was bad at being a Postal game. This game is going to a school talent show, and just pissing your pants on stage, then leaving; expectations were already rock bottom and you still disappointed.

Gem Rifts is pretty fun. Really pleasant visuals with a clear, easy to read UI/battlefield. There's a lot going on, but none of it is hard to manage. I find improving the city and building defenses very satisfying and it pays off quickly. Multiplayer is pretty fun, as there are enough aspects to the gameplay for everyone to be engaged. Fairly relaxing, and engaging experience,unless timers make you anxious.

In Amid Evil you play the Champion(Pie Eating, Knox County, 1994-'97), so you're stepping into some mighty big boots to fill right out the gate. Apparently pie eating trophies in the '90s were magic battleaxes, and now you can dimension hop.

As the Pie Eating Champion of Knox County, you must travel between various realms and beat up Amid Evil-man's occupation armies and liberate the various worlds. Every world has so many cool wizard guns lying around, that I find it suspicious they were so easily conquered, but they work and you can use them. They all sound and look pretty cool and I like that they stay relevant through the whole campaign.

The levels make absolutely zero sense architecturally, but they play nice as a shootman game. I assume they're all government commissioned monuments or something. Nifty secrets.

This ugly ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ is killing all the dinosaurs and, basically, you're ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupid.
