I've waited for this game for a very long time, and i was not disappointed, the world instantly pulled me back in, seeing areas from previous games that look familiar but have clearly had time pass, seeing how the faction wars from previous titles have changed the power dynamic of the zone,

the atmosphere provided is still as engaging as it ever was, knowing that a simple misstep will result in you reloading that save.

i will be honest though, there are some pretty big issues, FPS drops, Crashes and some points where missions will not advance due to bugs, and the enemy spawn issues,

That said, GSC are actively engaging and communicating with the players, with a big patch already released addressing a lot of the major issues, and i have no doubt that this will continue until they have the game that they envisioned.

The fact that a relatively small studio with the issues they have faced in development and the larger outside world have managed to make a game of this scale and level of detail is simply amazing in today's climate.

I look forward to the future updates and getting to see the road map of future content.

Having only played ARMA 3 for a few hours, i cant recommend this game hard enough,

Single player campaign is good in it's own right. although at times buggy this usually results in laughter rather than frustration.

Multiplayer is where this game really shines though, public servers can be hit and miss although mostly fun in it own way.

where this game has its hook though is the mods, generally if you can think of it, it has a mod for that. mix that with an almost infinite supply of private servers and "units" you will be able to find a community that does a style MILSIM that you will enjoy. from hard core "this aint a game son! to " if it bleeds we should kill it" mentality,

ARMA goes on sale often to, so if your unsure then grab it then, will be the best bargain you ever got.

this is by far the worst Game (and i use the term very loosely) that i have ever been unfortunate enough to play. I even dragged a friend along for the ride as we hoped that numbers would provide any form of entertainment. which it did. in who could get back to desktop first. this is the only game that i have ever dropped within 4 hours.

Had it on console played it through completed almost every quest, side quest and treasure hunt. then picked it up on sale on steam just to look at the mods. havn't finished the main story, havnt done the majority of side quests or treasure hunts but have played through lots of mods to the point i broke skyrim and reinstalled just to play more. in short base game is good although predictable, DLC brings new things and more play time, but for me it's the mods that still give this game life there is always something new be it new weapons or armour or a complete overhaul of the game.

i'd give the base game a 8/10
with mods 10/10
