After quite extensive playthrough in both vanilla and modded flavours I can say that this game is definitely not the best HOI title yet due to many problems(chiefly the AI and interface),but it is definitely very fun and playable.

Maybe not worth the full 40€ price tag,grab it while on sale or wait for the DLC's to come out and get yourself the bundle with those.

One of the best single player games I have ever played TBH.The lack of charachter creation is way more than made up with a great main charachter,witcher Geralt.The gameplay is simplistic and gets a lot of flak but I think it gets the job done.The atmosphere is very well made despite the limited graphics of the time.The cutscenes are a mix of game engine and beatiful narrated drawings.The voice acting is on the spot and the enviroments and charachters are engaging.Theres even posters and propaganda with an invented alphabet and language from the world.You can have sex with a ton of ladies but you know that already.+1 for cross species sex.Also theres an equivalent of the catholic church which is very interesting.The story is obviously great.

Quite a fun game if you are one of those strategy gamers that can pass on the graphics if the content is a good game,and this one is a good game.The strategy of the game is quite simple,being set in the american civil war:you have 2 sides who really hate each other,massed infantry and artillery and a few nostalgic horsemen who still try to cling onto their uselesness on the field.The game is essentially moving these forces around on maps which recreate the battlefields of gettysburg to take strategic objectives like hills and towns,depending on your result in one engagement(some hours of in game time) you may retain choose your next planned course of action and the AI can do the same(!) which impacts greatly the next scenario you will face.This is my favourite part of the game,it's quite dynamic and the AI is quite good surprisingly,at least the confederate one seemed to behave both intelligently and historically(played through the battle on the union side) and gave me quite a sound beating on some missions.In combat units are routed and reformed constantly,unlike total war where most of the time a unit will rout indefinitely and these units carry over in morale,fatigue and casualties to other missions,and you can see in game detailed stats of their kills too througout the campaign,very well done

Even outdated this is one the bestestestestest games ever if you don't mind sitting around idle pondering and organizing.The base game has campaigns in WW1 and WW2 where you can lead any country on earth pretty much,even like Tannu Tuva(based tannu tuva)or Nepal.Unfortunately by default the interwar period is not interesting,there is a mod called the grand campaign which supposedly fixes it but I've never really got it to work properly which is a shame.Which gets me to the real greatness of this game:the modding community!!There are so many great mods that will allow you to play in all these different time frames and scenarios with the same polish and fun of the base game pretty much.There are mods that improve the base campaign(total realism,world in flames,mod33,etc)mods that are set in other time periods(modern day scenario,new world order 2(cold war),even napoleonic wars)and mods that COMPLETELY CHANGE THE TIMELINE into a ahistorical one which are my favourites like Kaiserreich(germany wins ww1)abd even a mod that let's you play in the wastelands of the fallout universe!!The only problem is the game is really showing it's age and doesn't work great on new OSs and the engine doesn't allow for much more to be done with it than it already has,so we are just left to hope hearts of iron 4 improves on boring overcomplicated soulless hearts of iron 3,which doesn't involve you into the experience of leading a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ war one single bit in my opinion.

What can I say.A great game with great mechanics and many great missions and TONS of community created content.Seems like the perfect recipe for a great strategy wargame right?YOUR ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ WRONG,because the devs decided to use the Mein Kampf as a historical reference for the strenght of the armies in game,to the point where even in missions set in 1942 onward when the soviet and german units started to equal each other out you still find certain german units able to take on 2+soviet tank units and 4+soviet infantry...let's not forget how a german and a finnish infantry are supposedly the same.Yes apparently while moving out of it's defenses in finland a finnish infantry division has double the combat effectiveness of a soviet one.Wtf.Let's not forget how it's all the fault of the italians hungarians and romanians that germany lost the war and make their units have 1-1(attack-defense) stats!!*head scratching intesifies*.I cannot give the game a thumbs down tho,because the game itself is actually good,I just wish the racial profiling on units wasn't as profound and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

I came into this game with the interesting experience of someone who wasn't a men of war fan already,was more of the COH type.I do like this game quite a bit tho the playerbase is small and the game is EXACTLY the same as MOWAS 1 except the multiplayer is hosted on servers that actually work(good riddance,gamespy).The game has quite a bit of "wtf just happened" potential due to it's many units and funny physics,both making you rage and laugh a lot.Single player is just the same missions over and over and gets boring,the only things that change are the maps and the factions,multi player is quite fun tho it's plagued by the "neo nazi kid who masturbates at german tanks" syndrome that seems to be so popular in strategy these days,thankfully the game itself is quite balanced unlike some other games which encourage that behaviour with its game balance(totally not looking at COH2 here).If you haven't played MOW ever then I suggest getting it,but first you should trythe original MOW and play it to see if you like the style,it's quite different from most games

This game is an amazing experience,just finished it.The combat is like any other first person shooter tho one can fiddle around with stealth and the like if they feel like it.Definitely recommend setting the charachter voice language to russian and the subtitles to whatever you want tho,it will improve the game experience quite a bit(the subtitle translations are a little "liberal" tho).The game is never "scary" but it's always oppressive especially in some levels it really makes you feel endangered,overall worth every penny,Allah approves too.

If you can play it in coop,get it it will be tons of fun with 3 or more people,if not then meh.The game is still really good just feels better playing it with other people

Pretty nice game if you like multiplayer strategy with a hint of realism,The game is pretty slow and there are no bases but the combat is very tactical with thousands of units and tens of armies to choose from.Adds sea units to wargame so the game encompasses land,air and sea,pretty good if you ask me.Campaign much more challenging from the previous game and its very fun.

Great Multiplayer RTS,but get Red Dragon now
