The action is perhaps a little more subtle than recent titles such as Shogun 2 and Warhammer - without firearms / gunpowder and magic you need to find other things to love. But the presentation and the UI is the most polished yet for a Total War game.

I look forward to seeing what the mod community can do with this over it's lifetime and where the series goes from here.

When I fire it up on the basis I only have 20 minutes to play something... then end up still sitting there 6 hours later...

Simple, challenging, addictive, simultaneously.
