As of 11/01/2025, Still unable to play the game for long since the frame rate frequently drops to unplayable levels, and that is regardless of settings be it low or high. Mods helped a bit but frame rate still drops, Impossible to play without restarting the game continuously.

Wouldn't recommend until this issue is fixed.

Am running on Ryzen 7 5800X with RTX3070 with 32GB Ram.

The game is simply phenomenon for a first AAA game coming out from a new face in the industry and from China as well.

Especially as someone who is Chinese ethnic from Singapore, we are well verse with Journey to the West and Monkey King, and this tick all the right boxes with me, great game mechanics, great graphics, awesome animations included at the end of the chapters, the story, the dialogues, almost non-existent bugs for me, attention to details where there's no reused assets as compared to other known AAA studios.

I can't wait to see what other Chinese mythology/folklore they will bring in the next game!

The game is addicting, but the only quip I have is the seasons being too short, 6 weeks are too short for working adults.

Like what cohhcarnage and Asmongold said, it's best to have longer seasons, at least 13-20 weeks. Else this game will lost players/fanbase fast with only super casual players or players that do not need to work or have other irl commitments.

As much as I want to put this game at a 9 or a 10, I think this is a 8 or 7 at the moment. It's an amazing game but with a number of issues.

Combat, mechanics, open world is fun and at a GOTY level. But the story telling, story, lore are not GOTY worthy. AI is more complex then DD1, but still is janky at times. Enemy variety like many mentioned is an issue. Optimization is bad too with frame rate drops at random.

All in all, the game felt more like a DD1 remake as opposed to a sequel/ successor to the original.

An originally GOTY contender is up in smokes.

I'm going to be always skeptical of Sony Entertainment games with this whole fiasco. And honestly this makes me thinking of deleting my PSN account and selling my PS5 console.

The game itself is fun but from this whole fiasco, both dev and publisher have to have better communications and ensure the same level of screw up doesn't occur again.

I can't even play with my online friends as they are from a "PSN not available in your region" region.

This also makes me not ever gonna buy any more Sony PlayStation published games and have ignored Sony PlayStation games in all platforms now.

Early Access Review
The game is amazing not only for an early access but for the game itself. It scratches what I have been looking for, anime/ JP style graphics + FO4 type of settlement building + management/ colony sim + survival + open world + interesting lore, and so many more.

I will be frank, I wouldn't even mind cosmetic monetization/ micro-transaction as I'm pretty sure I'm in for this IP for the long term.

It's honestly a waste of my money and I have uninstalled it. Not gonna trust any Bethesda games anymore.

DO NOT EXPECT TREAT THIS AS A SPACE SIM!

All in all, the game is only somewhat fun if you are someone who love RPGs and the thing is with Bethesda games, they are selling a foundation, a 50% polished game for modders and for players to apply mods to on top of it. It's a 5/10 for the vanilla game by Bethesda, but you will use mods to make it into a 8/10 by modders hand.

Not Recommended for playing just the vanilla game, Recommended only if you are a heavy mod user and you love to mod Bethesda games.

And get rid of the false advertisement, marketing that Bethesda sold you like "unprecedented freedom" to explore a thousand planets, that "We are putting you in the cockpit of your very own spaceship and telling you that you can do pretty much anything." (Actually just loading screens when we are traveling unless you gonna spend hours flying), that "Space flight should be EXCITING and dangerous, and you should feel like you're in COMPLETE CONTROL EVERY STEP OF THE WAY. " (Couple of loading screens per travel between planets shows that I am FULLY in control.) and that you could visit any area of a planet and so on. The game is a good game for sure, but Bethesda is at fault for marketing and overhyping it.

I do agree it's frustrating with the way they marketed it and they should not have worded it that way. If you are a fellow lover of No Man's Sky, Elite Dangerous, or any other space sim games, you will be disappointed. Instead, treat this as a RPG set in Space faring/exploration era with limited open world capabilities (like a bigger Fallout 4 open world map being dissected and separated into different planets with a limited space for you to explore) and the core focus on individual rpg elements, dialogues and story.

Not to mention the game is really tame, PG and kinda get boring after a while as you can't get morally bad least all your "friends" turn against you. It's stupid.

Starfield is a somewhat fun game when you slowly get into it no doubt, but being a Bethesda game, as with most of their games, there are bugs and glitches, not as much as previous fallout games, but definitely still there. My first 5 hours or so was bug free, but I started seeing NPCs spasming and clipping through the assets like walls/floors or floating up into unreachable heights once I got into the Constellation first main mission...Maybe that's how the human body works when you stay in space too long. Trust Bethesda on this, they studied it. So as a Bethesda game, forget other non-vanilla in game contents like modders created costumes, etc, you got to use performance/ optimization mods to optimize and make you game work much more smoothly, have better fps and look better.

As expected of a FromSoft game, personally no bugs, glitches etc encountered from launch in moy 12 hours of game play.

Though I think the guidance for certain aspects like copying of color palettes to the user tab, etc should be much more clearer as I've seen some streamers/ vTubers fumbling around with that. Other than that the game is super fun! A must have for mech/ Gundam/ challenging game lovers!

Early Access Review
For an early access game, it's fun and enjoyable. Though not for the long term as there's still limited weapons, enemy types, maps, modes and so on. For now I'm hooked. Would love to see all 42 types of bugs added in with power armors slowly added in as well. It will also be nice to see the drop ship flying off cinematic instead of the POV still in the drop ship.

It does have it's minor graphical issues like blood floating in air/ not dripping and so on. Not to mention playing this in Singapore, with no Asian server, even with 900+ Mbps download and upload speed, it have the occasional lag/ latency. Sometimes interacting with gates have a bit of lag which I do not know whether it's a bug or due to the latency. Can imagine it will be worse for those with even lower internet speed outside US.

The game has been much better after patch 1.5, with the latest 1.6 Edgerunner patch it's even better. After watching the Edgerunner series though I wouldn't be satisfied with just one major DLC.
