Its more DA 2 than DA:O, and to me it feels very on the rails and a bit on the easy side. That said, if you can open your mind enough, there is some very good story elements here and some great (if not a bit under developed) characters to get to know. I also have really been glad to rip some of the lore band aids from the last games off. No more frilly mystery, we finally get some real answers.

Def should have been called "Dreadwolf" though, like what a dumb last minute decision. They never even say the word "Veilguard" even though thats supposed to be what you are. Can tell it was a way-too-late idea.

Do I recommend Kenshi? Good Stobe above, how do I answer that question? I am not certain if there is a more loaded question in all of existence....

If you are ready to lose hours of your time watching a bunch of bandits beat your character about the face and the neck, and maybe the chest area, and possibly the groin until he's no longer consisting of life pulse then this might be for you. Thats how you're going to spend your first several hours in Kenshi.

And then it happens. You grow stronger from these merciless beatings, and so long as you don't get eaten alive in the meantime, eventually you are the one claiming life pulse! As you grow and explore you will find endless ways to fill your time in this lore-rich world. The sandbox stories you will weave just with your many character's struggles will make people perk up and say "Wait, what game are you talking about?" Bounty hunt, build a base, become a trader, craft bad ass weapons and armor and open a shop, become the bandit, murder hobo your way to victory. The possibilities are endless, and we haven't even touched on the mod support.

I love Kenshi. I dream of a day when Kenshi 2 comes to steal more of my life pulse away from me. It will take you for a wild ride and leave you questioning everything. It will take everything from you and leave you face down in the dirt. You're gonna love every ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ minute of it.

Its Ok, but really just boss fight after boss fight and kinda loses substance pretty quickly. Decent world and concept, unique skills, and interesting character designs, but it feels like its lacking something to me. Kinda surfaces deep. Pretty surface, but thats all you get. Get it on sale, or save your time and money.

Jank. This game is a great concept, but they totally missed the mark. More frustrating to play than fun. Refund requested.

I'm giving this a recommend because there is something there, and I am pretty hopeful this will get some work in the future. That said, its really lacking at the moment. The game play is great, and with a little work on pathing, it could make the back bone of a really solid game. However, the rest of the game just isn't there at all. The story is painfully, pathetically short. Like unforgivably short. Also, its just not good. I love a lot of the characters, but every bit of the "plot" is just rushed and forced. It ends so abruptly as well.

The other game modes are meh. I'm not really into the multiplayer stuff, so I don't know how much more I'm gonna get out of this game, unless the devs add some fun single player stuff. A recommend because I want to support the devs, and I want to believe they'll add some better content in the future.

Early Access Review
This game is fun and addicting. Its still early access so lots of things still in development, but looking at everything that will be available at 1.0 is pretty exciting. I've heard it was a rough start, but frequent updates and fixes have done the game a lot of good. The devs are doing a great job, and I look forward to playing this game some more through EA, and really can't wait for 1.0!

Played through the game once, and even went back for a second play though, but I still can't say I recommend this game. Got nothing to do with the controversy surrounding it, its just not a finished game. Really could have used another 6 months or more in development. Lots of good level design and detail, but the characters are bland af, and do not develope at all. The Player characters is just tofu, with no substance at all. There is 0 consequence for actions, and the story doesn't change at all despite trying to be good or bad. The story overall is complete trash, like it was an after thought.

At least spell mechanics are ok, combat can be fun, but gating all skills behind the dumbass story doesn't help. I own it, so I'll probably play it here and there, but if you are curious about it, just wait for a sale. Its not worth the full price at all.

This game isn't perfect by any means, but the hate is misguided. Personally I love the new Italy campaign. The AI could be way better, sure, but as a first attempt at the Total War-esque map there is a lot of fun to be had. I would love to see this campaign style improved upon and further implemented in DLC and future COH games.

Only recommend if you wanna play solo.

The gameplay is solid, fights are well designed, the world is gorgeous. It can be a lot of fun. However, the story is complete trash and if you try to play coop you also invite invasions from other players, forcing you into PvP. Personally, I hate PvP in all games, and allowing a player to come greif me while I'm fighting an already difficult boss is just dumb.

3/5. Real fun for a while, but trips over itself with some ♥♥♥♥♥♥ gatekeeping mechanics

Edit: Raising this to 4/5 and will recommend thanks to LukeYui's Seamless Co-Op mod. Leave it to the community to fix the developer's rushed short-sightedness

This game is amazing, however the more I play the more I hate the main loop of the Chaos realms. One of my armies legit got stuck on a portal in Tzeentch's and every time they move the trigger it and just bamf between two spots, effectively wasting the chaos gate event.

All the factions are great, but I find each time I play the wind is sucked from my sails at turn 35 when the gates start opening. Luckily, none of them are too hard, just really annoying.

Despite the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, I still highly recommend this game. When (Im)Mortal Empires DLC drops, it will be very difficult to put this game down.
