Don't get me wrong it's a really good FPS/Jedi simulator – I played it the first time when it came out and it was a good experience BUT the steam version is a total mess:
-all the music that suppose to be in the game is missing.
-the cutscenes and menu are in a small window.
-bad compatibility with modern systems in general.

I wasted a lot of time and frustrations to find how to fix the problems with this game and I really don't want anybody else to go through this hell of a mass, so save yourself the troubles, just go & buy the GOG version instead.

Don't be fooled by the screenshots, it's maybe graphically outdated compare to today modern titles but it got a great storyline, a great soundtrack, great atmosphere and amazing voice acting.

This game is more RPG then FPS and this is all because of the decision you will make on what skills you will take and the states you will choose to upgrade, those will affect the gameplay.

You can be a psi ops soldier using the power of your mind to cast telekinetic blasts and even make yourself invisible but you will not be able to use the high tier weapons.
You can be a muscle head using you automatic rifle to mow down any resistance in your way or even a hacker who specializes in taking control of security systems and bending vending machine (fabricators) to your will.

There is a lot to experiment with in this game so don’t be afraid to do so since there is no "you are playing this wrong" on the first or try.
Just enjoy your first run and think of it as way to feel the game especially since you can lower the difficulty in the middle of the game if it will get that hard for you.

The main problem of the game is the same one Deus Ex had, which is there are some useless skills or useless build that can hurt a run if sometime although you can always lower the difficulty.

I highly recommend going and downloading the visual mods (there are guides for this on steam).

Don’t be fooled by the old graphics of this hidden gem – this is a very good FPS that can stand with the of Doom and Heretic.

This is an old school FPS with very responsive controls, secrets to find and excellent storyline.

You play as the mercenary Kyle Katarn, helping the rebel alliance in their war against the Empire by doing missions where you need to complete on each level some objectives and reach the extraction point to finish the game.

Just don’t forget to update Dosbox & it's settings - check the community guides for more help in this matter.

A fun kill-your friend by "mistake" simulator - me in 2015.

And now? I don't recommend this, I have tried recently to play this with a friend and this game is absolutely unplayable online.

We had so my fun playing this online in the past: "accidentally" killing each other (and ourselves) with a random bolder from a stray rock element spell, blowing each other over the cliff, or summoning a thunderstorm where a stray lightning bolt killed both of us because we thought it would be funny to try this new spell (and it was).

But since the last update, the game crashes after every screen transition and the game also randomly starts lagging for no good reason and disconnects.

I hope breaking the game in order to add microtransaction was worth it.

Avoid this game like the plague, it's not worth the money since one of its selling points was the coop with friendly fire.

And this is very sad since Magicka 2 in my opinion is not as good as this game - this is far superior: Nothing here is a damage-soaking sponge, the mobs (and under the correct circumstances the bosses also) can die from a giant boulder to the face just as fast as your wizard can.
