Fantastic detective game.

Gateway drug to Dwarf Fortress

Very comfy and relaxing city building game. Just be prepared to have your first few towns die a slow and agonizing death.

Majesty has stood the test a time and remains one of the most unique games in the RTS genre (or is it a management sim?). You have little to no direct control over your units and rather must achieve your goals by building infrastructure to support your kingdom and placing bounties to entice the heroes inhabiting your realm. That uniqueness can make it quite difficult though, and the controls certainly still feel a bit antiquated.

I was initially skeptical of how little was added in this "HD remaster", but the small improvements really do go a long way to making the game run easier on modern machines. If you've never played, I highly recommend you give Majesty a try.
