Early Access Review
The more you play, the more addicting it gets
Key features
  • One dwarf carries entire cave,
  • Fun, kinda repetitive, still fun though,
We require more vespene gas
I'm going to say it now - glyphids look like zergs. Whether intentional reference, or side effect of graphics, but hey, see for yourself.
https://steamoss.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3400222001
The game loop is rather simple - you must complete a series of caves, harvest two major resources i.e. gold and nitra, and then use them to buy upgrades. Challenge here is to maintain balance between collecting a little extra minerals and killing hordes of bugs. Somehow it actually feels like a genuine swarm - hundreds of various bugs (flying, explosives, healing, etc) chase you from every possible opening. Survive!
https://steamoss.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3402507528
Missing content and replayability.
Compared to DRG, Survivor lacks enemies. Korlok, oppressor, menace, first spring to mind.
Cave is a big rectangular, nothing of random generated sophisticated network which I love in DRG.
And as I mentioned above, the game loop is just running, dodging enemies and finding gold and nitra, w/o which you can't level up much.

What's great in Survivor, is that you randomly get weapons and so-so many new overclocks for them! A dwarf can run with other class grenades and guns! Turrets will follow you and the shotgun can fire plasma! The flexibility of how you can craft your build is insane! Imagine a Scout dropping several freeze grenades per second! Watch Gunner, standing still and literally melting bugs with heavy guns. Take Driller with spinning primaries and listen to new voice lines.

I like how DRG universe is expanding and I'm looking forward to new content for this game.

It's all about Family
Key features
  • Cozy farmhouse and its dwellers,
  • ♥♥♥ up boss fights,
  • Amazing extras!
My least favourite RE
RE7 is very small. A lot of its story spins inside (and occasionally outside) a single location. Puzzles are reduced to story related progression, leaving very little cause for exploration. Which you can't do anyways when an agitated man with a shovel chases you up!

There aren't zombies either, but new type of enemy - molded, dark goo monsters. Still slow moving, sharply twitching sideways, with a few variants. Fighting them wasn't fun, unlike bosses. Those encounters were a lot more memorable (and painful). Say, you have to dance with a chainsaw. Or plough through swamp waters shooting biomass. Play hide and seek with a repulsive woman. Gross!
The best part of the game is when you finally leave the house and end up on a ship, solving its riddles, discovering more background lore and unlocking get away doors. That and the gun blazing part, not going to lie.

Loved the extra modes
While I recall myself literally forcing to complete the base game, I really enjoyed playing those tiny expansions.
RNG based run with loot boxes and a boss battle, escape-room mission, some silly food scavenging quest and even goofier melee bare knuckles campaign! RE logic never cease to amuze me.

Hand-holding in Space
Key features
  • Zero gravity exploration,
  • Ecstatic granny who swears a lot,
  • Cranked up graphics (compared to previous telltale games)
https://steamoss.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3391481727
Not bad overall
The Expanse is engaging enough to keep on playing it.
Compared to previous games, this one stands out with improved picture, ability to walk walls/ceilings and fly around in space. First chapters we spend mostly outside gathering junk and admiring the views, new to the Telltale approach.

However, it is also different in the ways The Expanse develops characters' bonds (focuses mainly on one), implements QTE system (extremely simplistic and time generous), and how it gradually deteriorates with each episode (suffered through Episode 4!). Not to mention locking a big chunk of lore.

I didn't understand that reference
Hey, I never watched the TV series, nor read the novels. Game's characters keep mentioning names, regions and battles - of which I have no clue about. I'm like "yeah, whatever ¯_(ツ)_¯ " and continue watching the game. NPCs even swearing futuristic made up language, which meaning you'd guess anyway, but still.

Do you want to experience a story about a spaceship crew, being chased by pirates, argue with an old pilot and fly a bit around space debris while responding to a relaxed QTE? Grab the game then.

Lunacy on Mars
Too many cons
  • Clunky movements for a walking sim,
  • Inconsistent and rather rare QTE,
  • Very short i.e. 4 chapters equalling 4-5hrs,
  • Genuine "wtf was that story"?!,
https://steamoss.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3389802830
Allow me elaborate... oof... Fort Solis consists mostly of walking inside a martian complex, checking crew rooms, walking through long dark tunnels, reading/watching/listening logs, spending ridiculous amount of time opening and closing airlocks, wondering outside, returning to the complex and repeating all of the above.

The game is extremely short and not worth £10, that's what I paid for it.
I honestly don't mind walking sims, but at least saturate one with a proper story! We're investigating a sudden lock-down and eventually have to chase/escape the place. While accessing more staff quarters!

In a two, TWO (!), fight sequences QTE confused the hell out of me. The same pattern may mean "press and release", and may mean "press and hold"... But wait, QTE doesn't matter! You can fail it, you can succeed it - the outcome is the same, lol. Why bother then?

There are only two pros
Graphics and female engineer. That's it! Picture is amazing, textures, models, honestly, wow!
You get to play the blonde for a short time, when a story makes a "twist".
https://steamoss.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3389308382
Unfortunately, her pretty face, lips animation and shiny piercing wasn't enough to overwhelm everything else.
So, I DO NOT recommend this game.

Why did the maintenance tunnels break up?..
Key features
  • From the dev who made Helltaker,
  • Mittsies as soundtrack (again!),
  • Cute murderous ghost girls,
...there was no spark between them
We are here to fix that. Rekindle the spark. And then more to follow!
https://steamoss.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3386185997

Awaria is a fast paced game with kinky green ghosts. Dodge electrical attacks, fix generators by bringing specific items and enjoy lustful artworks afterwords.

(slightly) Bumpy Sequel
Key features
  • Played mostly with open mouth i.e. it was so cool!
  • Questionable "talk to" hub and dead (literally) outdoor locations,
  • 50% ambience, 50% action.
https://steamoss.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3377992384
Stick to the core play
Let me say it now - when GR2 focuses on wallrunning, dodging/parrying attacks and occasional dives into cyber reality - oh man, the game is amazing! It's simple, though requires fast reaction check. Now there are more lethal interactions - crashing billboards, manually activating pipes and surfaces, not to mention reworked and expanded skill menu.

Specific boss levels are masterpiece! Somehow a lot easier in general and definitely worth replaying. Loved the Rahu encounter!
https://steamoss.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3376105462
However, GR2 frequently stops abrupt and now you have to speak with NPCs, drive for miles on empty roads only to reach a small bunch of enemies, then return to your bike and continue the voyage. Remember Serious Sam 4 with its massive empty levels? Almost the same here.
https://steamoss.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3378848221
I'm upset because only a few missions on the bike were actually great - when you're getting out of the Tower driving vertical and bypass shutting doors; when you're inside a mechanical being with its inner spinning gears and blades; finally when returning to the Tower... they are fast paced, intense, juicy! Ah, why not make more of these?

*We Are Magonia - Protocol Overload* intensifies
GR2 is uneven. Dark neon streets jump to bright sunny chambers. Short heated arenas are taken over by peaceful pipes riding. You can even complete challenge terminals - checkpoints, ability test, deflection exam. But these aren't what I'm here for. I need speed and action. As well as more of cyber beats. But GR2 is 50% by 50%.

Money Worth Simulator
(got it for 84 penny)

Key features
  • Bee facts during loading screens (+ more in-game),
  • Moderate amount of various engaging activities,
  • Rather tough combat episodes
Stay calm and keep bee-sy
Nice game. Paid less than £1 and honestly didn't expect much from it. Now I have 12hrs.
What to do? Lots of flying, obviously. Camera goes 360* and here you are, speeding up to collect pollen, moving rapidly from one flower to another. In between you're tasked to investigate different areas, fight off hostile animals and help friendly bees.
https://steamoss.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3374517890
Quite filling extras
Main story is absurdly short. Luckily, we have challenges to complete.
Each area is a small section harbouring multiple side quests i.e. racing other insects, breaking out of cobwebs, stinging hornets, wasps and sometimes even attacking bully humans!
Other chores will test your memory and will ask to repeat exact moves. Certain missions will involve exploration and (hopefully) will motivate you to increase interaction with in-game environment. Yes, you can totally sting items, animals, suck on sweets and make kids cry! *evil satisfaction*
https://steamoss.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3374517370
Oh, buzz off!
Earlier I mentioned tough combats... There are many occasions when you have to fight off wasps and hornets. Frequently it's a two-three enemies in a single challenge. Their individual health is twice of yours. Naturally, they hit harder and easily stun you. The fight is a real time blocks, dodges and attack, where you have to accumulate stamina to make a move. Took some time to gitgut in it, but still, initial encounters weren't pleasant.

Four survivors rushed for a key,
One got infected and then there were three...
Key features
  • Fluctuating online,
  • Sexy characters and funny skins,
  • Rather quick and timed matches
Connection, lags and hacks
The game's biggest issue is its multiplayer (appears to be common with Capcom titles).
First of all you need a minimum of 5 people to start a match. One day it's pretty active and busy, another evening all you get is 2/5 gamers and a looong wait.
Then frequent disconnects occur, especially if a host has bad internet (yes, RESISTANCE is not server based). Glitches, desyncs, noclips... you name it! Plus, in a dozen sessions half of them are filled with hackers, brutally annihilating teammates. Alright!

Actually cool experience
But if you manage to get a lobby of locals and play w/o cheaters, wow, RESISTANCE is amazing!
https://steamoss.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3370327059
Four players are trying to escape, wearing mini-skirts, leather jackets, fishnets, oof! Sexy voice in speakers announces evil plan and spawns zombies, traps and may suddenly take control over them to bounce you. Brilliant!

Had enough of running away? Try another side and block exits, infect teams and even summon over-powerful things which can immobilize, crush or swallow survivors, Yum! The more damage you deal, the less time they have to escape!
https://steamoss.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3370857445
To be played with friends
Pretty nice game overall, fun guarantied with close people, touch public matchmaking if you dare. =P

Colourful Chupa Chups with Rotten Filling
Key features
  • Boring and repetitive gameplay,
  • Pointless upgrades and gear,
  • One button progression
I was deceived
The Gunk lures with its shiny cover, looks promising with all that spaceship, jungles, equipment locked behind crafting materials, but... it's not used at all! You will spend 95% of your time sucking up dark mousse, fighting off 2-3 tiny enemies per level and that's it. Vacuuming the goo sucks, but it is the core mechanic here. Keep that key pressed and slurp on.
https://steamoss.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3358118041
Other 5% of the time is about to be wasted on checking every single corner for the items hunting.
And what for - yes, you can get a lure device, but there's like only one place to use it. Invest points to move faster? I barely noticed any differences. Increased cleaning rate? Again - hardly visible.
It even gets worse - a "necessary" drama between characters. It's been a long time I facepalmed myself. Thanks, game.

Slow paced, yawn-fest, humourless. Not for me

Nice Hotel!
(booking tips - ask for a knife)

Key features
  • Very similar to Resident Evil series,
  • Great puzzles,
Read this, check that, memorize one more thing...
St. Dinfna Hotel has a lot, a lot of puzzles.
It's the safe codes, hidden in notes. It's invisible hints, revealed only via camera.
It's a special key, which you assemble gradually and then backtrack to unlock multiple boxes. And more!
Solving the above is rewarding, as you get upgrade points, rare ammo and in other cases pressing correct keys is a requirement to advance a story.

Little RE brother
What does this game have in common with RE? Rare saving stations. Inventory, which you can expand. Scarce ammo and shaking enemies. Aforementioned puzzles. There's even an item box, where you can store unwanted things.
Furthermore, say hello to a local chaser. Not as tough as Nemesis or Mr X, but its appearances (often after important story episodes), may disturb you.
https://steamoss.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3365788610

Fobia is much less stressful experience, compared to RE
By difficulty, it's more forgiving. Multiple mechanics (camera, puzzles, new blockages) play out well.
In the end you may have more questions than answers, but for me it was well worth the time.
