l4d2 add-on installation guide:
Download Left 4 Dead 2 Add-on support (under Library, and downloads in steam)
Then download maps from The usual website, (L4Dmaps.com) and extract it to C:\program files\Steam\teamapps\common\left 4 dead 2\left4dead2\addons
note that I extract the files to the desktop first, and then copy and paste(not drag and drop) to the folder, since I heard from a few sites that it causes errors, of coarse I do delete the files from the desktop later on.
I hope this helped, this was a simple thing that gave me a lot of trouble. Thought you may not know and wanted to know how to do this, since original maps just get old and custom maps are fresh content, enjoy.
