This is the greatest RPG of all time. If you have reservations about the narration and/or the turn based combat, you're a little whiny baby and not a TRUE gamer like me.

Rather than write out a wall of text I'm just going to summarize some things I've noticed in my ~6 hours playing.

FC3 introduces a crafting system that allows you to increase the amount of ammo/guns/items/syringes/etc. you carry. This is done by killing and skinning different animals (of which there are a ton) that roam the island. Different items require a different animal skin, and the amount of the skin needed varies as well. This is better than simply going to a store and purchasing them with money, but it's not very in depth. You could go and farm the animal skins/plants and max out your ammo/guns/syringes within an hour if you really wanted.

The storyline is pretty dumb/ridiculous

The game relies a little too much on stealth. You receive bonus XP for killing enemies with your knife or a "takedown", which inadvertently punishes players who prefer to snipe or run in guns blazing. In addition there is new "assassination" side quest that has you take out someone causing havoc on the island. Unfortunately, you have to use your knife to kill them and they're never alone. So you can gun everyone down and then try to knife them when they're on full alert, or spend 5 minutes silently stalking and knifing everyone.

There's also a new side quest to hunt down and kill animals using a specific weapon. It'd be nice if the assassination quests were like this.

The visuals are gorgeous and the sounds are fantastic.

There is a huge, open world environment to explore.

The game is a little easy because loot chests, animals, and plants are all shown on the map. If you wanted you could go and collect all the loot boxes and sell the items for a ton of money pretty quickly. Syringes are crafted from plants, which there's a small amount of, but they all fall into color categories : green, blue, red, amber, white, etc. All are visible on the minimap. So you if you just care about health syringes, you could easily only pick up the green plants to craft them while avoiding all the other colors of plants shown on the map.

The weapon selection is pretty decent and offers some typical customization options (attachments and skins). No attachments for sniper rifles though.

You have a camera which can mark enemies, so you can watch them on your screen/minimap. It helps to plan an attack for when you want to go stealth. Pretty useful, I use it often.

Overall FC3 is really fun, I find myself playing it for a bit everyday. I have a few gripes, but it really doesn't detract from the game that much. I got it during the Winter sale for $7.49, and I think I've already gotten my money's worth. I wouldn't pay $40 or whatever it is normally, but if you're interested and it goes on sale, I'd recommend picking it up.
