Short and sweet adventure game. Didn't know the streamer beforehand, may check him out now.

Early Access Review
A rogue-lite bullet-hell similar to Vampire:Survivors, but harder than that game in my opinion. Insanely replayable and for quite the low price.

One of those gems that got into the limelight thanks to streamers - and it absolutely deserves it.

Once again a game where a neutral option is needed.

The game has some genuinely nice moments and the dialogue is mostly pretty good and had me smile at times. Problem is:

1. Sometimes you have three options, but they are so remarkably close to one another when all I wanted was to end the conversation or at least the subject. Leads to some unnecessarily "awkward" moments.

2. (SPOILER AHEAD) The game forces you to play through it a second time which leads to a positive ending as getting a happy end on your first playthrough is seemingly impossible without changing the game code - regardless of your choices. This means even being the perfect boyfriend means you get robbed of a pleasurable conclusion.

Now a second attempt wouldn't be all that bad if not for the fact that even though I chose the different girl, the dialogue is almost exactly the same with alterations to names, favourite music genres and the field they are going to study (however with the relationship between the two from the other perspective obviously), making the second time more of a chore than fun since I was aiming for that good ending. I was hoping for her to be a different character, but the two girls are basically clones with different names.

3. I tried out some things like congratulating the other girl for her birthday and poking some people that hadn't initiated the conversation with me - to no avail. I may have missed something (as plenty of achievements have not yet been reached, but those additional buttons seem to be just for show most of the time and I have lost interest in replaying it again.

Quite saddening, honestly. I would love to recommend the game as it's made by the devs of Bulletstorm, Gears of War etc. and because gameplay is therefore fun and fluid. It also looks pretty decent and despite some cringy dialogue is mostly well voice acted for as far as I could experience it.

But the server issues, as already stated in other reviews, are unacceptable and make the game almost unplayable even when playing solo (which I did). I'm literally less than 2 hours into the game and I can't progress because at this one part of a main mission where I get to fight my first Captain (besides the side mission available nearby) I got 3 disconnects in around 15 minutes and that includes twice repeating the battle to get to him.

This game is now more than a year old and still it suffers from the same issues that reviewers talked about when playing it on release. I'm not sure if this is a Steam- or a PC-related problem, but I didn't have it when playing it on Xbox thanks to Game Pass. I may try to install it through the Xbox App to find out and will edit this review if I do so. After all, playing Tomb Raider 2013 through the Epic Games launcher didn't result in the same issues I encountered on the Steam version with which I couldn't even get into the game most of the time due to some weird graphics card-related issue if I'm not mistaken.

Don't waste your time trying out the fixes shown on the web by the way. There is a pretty small chance that disconnecting from the servers is due to outdated drivers on your machine. I checked every single one on mine - nothing out of order - and yet the same network problem occured again within five minutes.

If I had paid for the game, I would have been pissed off, I'm sure - but as it stands I won't even be using the two days Steam has given me to play it.

Edit: I've tried playing it on the Xbox App for PC - works much better there with far fewer issues (although it felt like the performance dropped just slightly, I may be wrong though). In the same amount of playtime I've only had a single crash on that version and could basically "speedrun the sh*t" as opposed to my experience on Steam.

A waste of time. You get dozens of achievements every minute you play, but what for?

Seems procedurally generated, but is often unfair with unavoidable obstacles - which kill you instantly. Haven't tried the different outfits I read about in the other comments that apparently give you new abilities, but I won't bother. I'll waste my time on different things instead.

Really wish there was a neutral option here, but even though I appreciate this marketing effort, I will have to give this a negative rating as my experience just wasn't great whatsoever.

The game ran terribly for me, had a constantly low framerate and was plagued by a myriad of framerate drops - so far that I had actual freezes, especially during the SW3 trailer wherein the app froze for a minute or two. Strange, as I was pretty sure that my specs at least fulfilled the minimum requirements - the game itself put all the settings on High, yet reducing those to Medium had absolutely no effect on performance. Funnily enough, however, towards the end I found out that the game ran better when I alt-tabbed out and back. Go figure.

Luckily, I still managed to reach the boss, yet even though I was in his room, all I could see was blue sky all around me with a few banners flying here and there and the path I came from. A little bit confused, I jumped down thinking that maybe I had to follow an invisible boss - only to find out that my falling down from that platform was endless. To my disappointment, I had encountered a game-breaking bug and went back to the main menu - which unfortunately didn't offer the chance of resuming my game, only to start anew. The game was promptly uninstalled.

A game with a very soothing soundtrack and an easy to understand principle.

The puzzles naturally tend to get harder with progression. They do, however, vary greatly in difficulty.

Very low price, high entertainment value in comparison.
