Excellent game.

The puzzles can be very tricky despite simple mechanics.
The graphics and art direction, level design are great.
The OST is top tier.
The themes are brought about with respect and humility, no bashing you over the head with the "sci3nce rules!!1!" type of ♥♥♥♥, nor pushing one or the other philosophical dogma that are explored.
The dialogue/lore is nothing that will blow your mind but it's written interestingly.

No aspect of this game is below average, it's through and through a very good game.

Complete scam. You buy a game 5€ and when you get in and try to play a duel with a friend - ♥♥♥♥ you, you need to buy the "champions upgrade" 29.99€ just for that option.
That's one way to give the finger to your customers.

The point of buying a "remastered" video game from 20 years ago is that you expect it to run well and without inconvenience on a modern machine.

It doesn't. It has game-breaking glitches. I got stuck loading saves for 30 minutes on the flaming beaver dam because I could not get out of the tar shore scene. Click as I may, press arrows keys as I may, I was hitting an invisible wall.
Only 2 hours of playing and I went through at least 10 reloads because of the game glitching randomly.

Terrible work. It really shouldn't be that hard to make a 2d game work on a modern computer.

Terrible piece of ♥♥♥♥ game, don't even bother.

Visually, it's trash, the "electro barrier" doesn't even ♥♥♥♥ out 1 spark of electricity to look cool, it's a static model like everything else and just deals damage behind the curtain, you don't even see it. The flame thrower doesn't burn anything, it's basically just a machine gun with yellow smoke instead of bullets. Horribly underwhelming.

The gameplay itself sucks balls. When you join an online game here's what you can do: nothing. You can't buy barricades, turrets or whatever. You can't place them if there's some in store, you can't buy any weapon either, you also can't buy ammo for the weapons. There is literally 0 thing you can do. The host does everything. And of course he does it wrong. He buys all the stuff, he places all the stuff and all the weapons/ammo he buys goes into some sort of invisible shared pool for everyone. So let's say you ask nicely to get a shotgun, now there's 2 people who can try to switch weapons faster than you and obtain the shotgun. The host then has to buy 4 shotguns. But will he? No. Of course not.

Basically the host plays the game and you're just a bot. You're one more "auto turret" hiding behind the cover except I guess you can press G to toss a grenade or two if the big boss thought of buying you one.

Propa good game, but don't go thinking it's much more than the demo offers. It's pretty much the same thing in both Story mode and Guardian mode, there are a few cool bosses, but enemies are the same and levels barely change.
No unlockable characters either, that's a real shame, especially for a made in nihon game.
The gameplay is pure dope from day 1 to day 99, if you enjoyed the demo, go for it.
