The game is good for what it is. There is no story and the end goal is to simply unlock all the erotic activity and clothing options for each of three women. You can have the main character impregnate each woman, but the game doesn't appear to go anywhere from there, other than offering pregnant models for each of the women. The animations for each activity are a bit different for each woman, lending visual variety. Overall, the animations are well-crafted, but after hours of gameplay and unlocking everything, the game becomes repetitive. The artistic style is above average anime, and there are vocalizations of the female characters.

I enjoyed this game which explores an incestual intimate experience. It begins with the main character hiring an escort and having his sister show up at his hotel room. The game even includes a humorous dream sequence.

I just finished playing Cry of Fear all the way through for the first time. It's an amazing game because of its complex plot, excellent use of unique monsters and bosses, and a level design that requires the player to revisit areas. A few of the puzzles were a bit annoying, but you can also search online if something stumps you. Loved the jump scares, sound effects, music, and four potential endings. There were a couple of times in the game where I found myself out of ammo, no syringes, and very low health. I did tweek the skill.cfg file so that I could push through these sections, but afterward I changed the difficulties to their original settings. I didn't like doing this, but I wasn't going to start over and using a previous save would be going too far back in the game. I'm a novice player so I'm debating if I'll give it another go or not. I completed the game on Normal, got ending #4 (the "good"ending), and scored a D, probably because of the long period of time I took to play the game and the large number of saves I made. I'm not sure if I'll play it again because I probably have a lifetime's worth of games to play yet. Also, I'm looking forward to playing "Afraid of Monsters" by this team. I also played through the Doctor Mode that was unlocked at the end of the game.

This is a very fun (and FREE) singleplayer mod with lots of action and an amazing soundtrack! There are some jumping puzzles near the beginning, but nothing that was frustrating. Combat can be brutal, but if you use cover effectively, speed, and the right weapons, the combat is always possible. Loved the achievements! I only got 3 of the 6, but I am inspired to play it through a second time to get the others that I missed. If you love Half-Life and FPS, this mod is a very worth edition to your steam library!

This is an outstanding mod with lots of combat and exploration. The mod starts a bit slow, but the comvat will get intense later. It even throws a few surprises at you. There was only one time (right near the end) when I was confused about how to make the game progress. It turned out I had to backtrack to an area that was previosuly inaccessible due to a forcefield. Downfall ends with a cliffhanger, and I look forward to playing part 2.

The bottom line for this game is that it is fun and wel worth its small price tag.

The developer, Rich, has clearly spent many hours creating unique environments and special effects. This effort pays off in giving the player an atmosphere that feels alien as he infiltatres the Combine base. For example, the portals are quite impressive, especially when they give the player glimpses of parallel worlds. The game also includes an impressive soundtrack.

There are several clever puzzles that are different from what one experiences in the official Half Life games. Although there were two times when I was confused about what to do, I eventually figured it out with just a little perseverance. One of the times I was stuck was due to a ladder that I needed to take but was difficult to see.

Some of the combat areas feel like arenas; however, if the combat starts to get frustrating, one can always tone it down through the options menu. I never felt like I would run out of ammo, and there were plenty of opportunities to pick up additional health and armor. Early in the game, there are a variety of enemies; in the second half however, you are only fighting combine troops which makes sense considering that your character is infiltrating their base.

Graphically, there were only two errors that stuck out to me. One was when the texture of two walls that met at a 90 degree angle did not really meld with each other. The other was what appeared to be a white mesh near the bottom of the map when jumping through a Xen area (don't worry--the jumping puzzles are brief and easy). This white mesh is likely an artifact from a mapping error.

With these minor quibbles aside, the gaming experience is a satisfying 6 and a half hours. Give it a try--it's a fun game!

After seeing all the accolades, I decided to take a chance when this title went on sale....and I now regret it.

First, if you are interested in this title for its erotic content, know ahead of time that this content was completely removed by Steam. If you desire that content, you need to go to the developer's website and pay $10 for a patch to restore the content.

Second, if you are interested in this title for its storyline, I personally found it dull and tiresome. Seiously, the story basically goes like this:

Vanilla: Master, can we have shampoo for our hair?
Chocola: You are mean! We want shampoo for our hair!
Narrator: We did not come to the market to buy shampoo.
Vanilla: (whines) But we want shampoo!
Chocola: The shampoo makes our hair nice.
Both: PLEASE!
Narrator: No, we are here to buy grocieries.

and on.....and on...and on....

This isn't quite verbatim, but it's an accurate reflection.

Third, if you're interested in the anime graphics, they are fine, but I've seen both far better and far worse.

Admittedly, I could invest more hours of my life into this "game" and hope it gets better, but since the beginning failed to grab my attention (the first rule of writing a good book is to seize the reader's attention--because this is really a book, not a game), it doesn't bode well.

I do not recommend it.

EDIT: I forced myself to finish Nekopara 1. It does eventually get better, and there are some erotic scenes, but you have to grind through a lot of annoying dialogue to get there. I'm currently playing Nekopara 2 which gets to the action more quickly. There's enough dialogue to develop the characters without it getting annoying. I think that the developers learned from the first one and made the second one better.
